Same problem. I went through HP help and replaced the ADF cartridge and reset it, but still printing a black line. Only does it when sending faxes or making copies. Does not do it when printing from computer or receiving faxes.
Had the same problem. Fixed it, temporarily, when I opened the scanner and cleaned out the gunk that had melted in the recesses on the scanner bar - thing that goes back and forth. It worked for awhile, but came back about 100 scan pages later. HP claims that they do not have a replacement part.
I am having this problem ,,,,not the cartridge, tried a new one
Is this happening when you print or when you scan? If when scaning you could have something on the scanner bed... If this is happening when you print, it could be the cartride is defective.

Usually answered in minutes!
I also have a thick black line, but vertically down the centre of a scanned or copied page. This is not due to marking on the glass.
Any ideas most welcome
I have a 1/2" black line down the side of each page that I am copying. Only happens when I copy. Prints fine from word or when printing photos. Using up all my black ink. I have tried changing ink cartridges to no avail. HELP!!
In A Tizzy
I have the same problem when copying and scanning. Can't seem to get a clear answer on how to fix.
it prints from the computer fine, but copies have a large dark vertical strip and many small vertical strips.
Only prints 2-sided. How can I change that to 1-sided printing?
