You should contact the provider of your Kenmore Refrigerator.. neither Fixya nor me, a Fixya user like you, know anything about the artifact you bought.

Assuming the cooling control is turned on, you possibly have a bad main circuit control board. If this is an older refrigerator with a mechanical thermostat, the thermostat is probably faulty.

What is the model number of your unit?

Please double check the Model Number and I will attempt a solution at that time. After this post I will no longer be able to place links. There shoud be a prefix like the 564. before the number. I did try to find this model but something in the model number is missing. Could you also look into back of freezer to see if there is a frost line building up? Here is another example, Click Here=>

Which model Kenmore Elite refrigerator do you have? If you have one of the older manual models, the thermostat is located inside the fridge side. If you have a newer model with digital controls you need to press and hold the the ON/OFF button for 2 seconds until the digital displays for temperature for the Freezer and Refrigerator lights. The Up/Down arrows allows you to adjust the temperature. If you are still having problems, write back. -- SWT

This can be due to one of two things, either the door is not hitting the light switch when it closes or the light switch is bad.

Locate the switch, it is usually on the top of the cabinet inside the refrigerator, push the switch, if the light does not go out then the switch is bad, if the light goes out the door needs adjusted so it will hit the switch when it closes. Typically this can be done by loosening the hinges and holding the door in place while someone tightens the hinges back up.

Usually somewhere inside the machine. Typical places are in the cover for the defrost timer or pasted to the inside of a rear cover. Sometimes folded very small. PS: Your model was made by GE

Most light switches snap in place. If there is no apparent screw and the switch seems to have an adequate lip all around it, use a putty knife or butter knife push under that lip at one of the shorter sides and gently try to pry it up. It should pop out. the two wires are usually attached by spade connectors that just pull off. Doesn't matter which wire goes on each. Sears should be able to get a new one. But before you go that far be sure the bulb is not burnt out first. You should also take the switch with you to sears or have a friend test the switch to be sure it is truly bad..
