Lexmark's is familiar with this problem.
Power off the printer for about 30 seconds. Power it on again. If the error message did not return, print a test page. If the test page prints correctly, it is fixed.
However, if the printer is connected to a UPS or a surge protector, it is possible the problem is caused by either of these. In that case, connect the printer directly to the wall, after turning if off of course. Wait 30 seconds. Did it print correctly? You are golden. If not, contact Lexmark for service.

There are no "Print Heads" in a laser printer. You should contact Lexmark to resolve this issue. Laser printers are incredibly complex and jam packed with little bits and pieces so only the highly trained should ever attempt to service them. Lexmark may be able to refer you to a local authorized repair center that can repair the printer for you.

I've been fixing Lexmark T640's for a week now and Print Heads are easy!!! Don't let someone scare you into thinking you can't do it yourself just so they get more business and can over charge you to repair something!

1. Remove side and top covers
2. Remove cover for System Board
3. Unplug 7-pin connector from System Board. It's 6-white 1-black wires.
4. Remove connectors from Print Head, should be 2. 1 in front, 1 in rear.
5. Remove the 4 screws holding down the Print Head
6. Take out print head and insert new one.
7. Install by following directions in reverse! :-)

Error 41 means there is a major problem with the printhead, usually
requires a print head replacement.
My advice is to take it to a
Brother service centre while if it is under warranty.
If it's out of warranty they are usually a throw away job, the heads cost as much as the printer.

Sorry I know what it feels like, just have a go and see what you can do, clean the heads and so on.

If you get errors after refilling and then you clear the error! And you still get errors occuring then this is a problem with the cartridge.
1)The cartridges printhead may have burned out if it was run dry. (new cartridge is required)
2) No ink is coming out of the port hole! Try dabbing the bottom of the cartridge on tissue. Ink should appear if not then use tissue with Isopropyl alcohol and blot lightly until ink apppears.
3) If not ink appears then you may have an air bubble blocking the flow of the ink. wrap cartridge tightly in plastic wrap holing in an up right position whip downwards this will force air to the top of the cartridge and open the port on the bottom. Remove wrap and try it out.
4) If the cartridge sat empty for a period of time before refilling you are wasting your time. The ink is probably sitting at the top of the cartridge and can not migrate to the bottom, in this case it may have burned out.

In refilling of Lexmark cartridges:
Refill often and do not allow them to run dry. Running them while there is not ink in the cartridge burns the print head out and the cartridge will not work and you will get an error.
By refilling often the cartridge stays in good condition, you do not run out of ink during a print job, and the cartridge will have a prolonged life span.

Its generally a cartridge error

Remove the cartridges...and properly clean the contacts of the cartridge...the printer service station where the cartridges sit...clean well for smeared inks....reinstall cartridge..

Align print head...

clean the print head from the printer software....
