Unsupported device(s) message comes on randomly

Hi. Starting a week or two ago, my TV stops working and a message comes up that says "Unsupported device(s)". I'm not trying to hook anything up to it other than what I've had hooked up permanently for about two years now -- just my cable box to the HDMI port, and my Sony DVD player. Like I said, I've had this configuration for two years with no problem. The only other thing I can think of is that a couple of weeks ago I got a new Logitech Harmony 1000 remote, but I've ruled that out by putting it in another room so it can't "see" the components (it's IR, not RF), and it still happens sometimes. Any ideas?

SOURCE: how do I factory reset my Philips 23pf5320

did you have the power supply connected to any componet in your system while making connections , {not just on stand by} ? if so you have probably blown your tv's amplifer. never ever connect or disconnect audio or video connections without disconnecting ac power from the entire system !!! you may or may not get lucky doing this for a good while but sooner or later fate will track you down.

SOURCE: We recently got a Philips 42PFL3704D/F7 lcd tv.

I had this a issue with the Component input not working right as well. I had a repair tech come to my house to take a look on Philip's dime. Turns out it's the main circuit board. You cannot obtain this part from Philips. I've been in a fight with Philips to replace the TV. All this started in Aug 09.

SOURCE: my tv powers on and stays on as long as nothing is

Dont know if this will help but it may be your main a/v board. I have a Sammy LCD and recently experienced similar issues. Tv wouldn't hold a picture or stay on. Once my tv would finally come on, any time I had something pluged in, in any input/with any input (composite, hdmi, component, or coax) and turned it on, the picture would go crazy and tv would shut off. The tv shutting off was due to the fact the tv was protecting itself from further damage. After lots of problem solving and talking with a tech, it was determined that my main a/v board was at fault. Sure enough as soon as I pulled out my main board and inspected it, it was obvious the board was bad. Not saying this is for sure your problem but it is very similar to what just happened to me. The boards are very easy to replace. Just a matter of unplugging some cables and unscrewing some screws. I found a replacement board on ebay and put it in myself. Doing the investigation on my own, opening it up and looking at the boards, and chatting with a with knowledgable techs and people on this site saved me A LOT of money. Again not saying this is your issue but you are having very similar symptoms that I have.

Hi, if you plug up your cable box the AV1 does it still not work. Please let me know what you find out. If you take of the back of the TV there is a reset botton on the main input board. Thats the board where you hook up your devices too. Please let me know if that works or not.

you should be able to exit using the power button. Funai needs to address this issue, using many universal remotes with their TV's can access this menu, this menu is used for diagnostics and is not supposed to be accessible by consumers.

I have a sony bravia flat panel. Volume has to be set very high to hear sound. Error message appears (unsupported audio device)

Does the message come when the Bravia is used with an external device? If so what is he cconnection used.?If this message is coming with the TV input then it is possible that the sound processor section is faulty.
Feed a aux input to confirm. If so try to set the audio properties once again with the menu settings.

Message of Unsupported video signal after attaching laptop to TV.

it sounds like the resolution the laptop is trying to send is not one of the resolutions that the television can display. TVs can display a range of resolutions, so try changing the laptop resolution, either increasing it (make the pixels smaller) or lower the resolution, try a variety of resolutions, one should work.

My Mazda MPV randomly begins to "chug" and act like it will die at a stop. the check engine light comes on. Started about 6 months ago. Seems to happen more when it rains. If I tighten the gas cap it stops...

the gas cap and check engine light thing are related in terms of the EVAP system, or the evaporative emisions system. This is NOT where your surge, or "chug" is coming from. The surge could be coming from a Exhaust Gas Recurculation valve that is starting to bind or "hang up" a bit. DO you notice this happens more at lights, or when coming to a stop? if so it could be an idle air control vavle.

Unsupported card

The first thing you will have to check the card. There is slot on the card that contains a switch. This will lock the card so that it is write-protected. This will cause the unsupported card error.

If the card looks fine, try a card reader just to confirm that the card has not been corrupted.

If the card is functional and you can read its contents from the PC or another SD-slot device, then the issue is your camera. The slot contains thin copper prongs that comes in contact the copper surface on the back of the SD card. If the prongs are bent or damage, then the camera cannot read your card.

I have fixed this before. So if you details instructions, contact me.
