Blue haze on my plasma screen
I had the same problem, I had to send it back to Philips to get a $900 part replaced. Thankfully I had the warranty with it.

42PF9630A 42 in. Plasma Television: hi there, I have a phillips 42 inch plasma flat...
This is because the power switch operated the socket that your TV is plugged into. Unplug it and plug it in another socket that is not operated by a switch. Appliances should not be plugged into a socket operated by a switch because of the inconsistency of power to the socket. Lights are about the only thing that should be plugged in.

Do I need to calibrate this model? Any other suggestions?
I have seen services offered by some box stores to "calibrate" the color on televisions. (It was not a cheap procedure.) Is there a problem with a the picture? Did you reset the tv to factory settings and you still do not like the picture quality?

HEY
Hi, Simply attaching the cable isn't always enough. Sometimes you actually have to tell the laptop to display via HDMI or DVI onto your external monitor or it will not output any signal.
Try pressing Windows Key+P, this will change your presentation settings in Windows (What screens you get a display on and how they are displayed). Cycle through to either "projector only" or "duplicate screens" and see if you get a display on your TV then.

Red light
Sounds like the main board is faulty. No SDA - SCL signals.
