Check the point where the arm piviots, maybe a screw has come loose. Depending on the type of cartridge it should track at 3 to 4 grams.

I gather you don't know how to adjust the tonearm. First put the stylus pressure, and antiskating to zero. Balance the tonearm for a free floating position. Ortofon cartridges will list the stylus pressure, generally 1.5 grams. Dial in the correct pressure, and set the antiskating to the same as the stylus pressure. All 33 records seem to be skipping. Is there a weight adjustment option for teh tone arm?

there is a counter weight on the rear of the tonearm that will add weight to the stylis (tracking force)

Turntalble stylus sliding.

The head-shell weight is clearly different and you would need to re-set the arm balance.

this is usually done from the back of the arm where the counter balance sits.

Cartridges have a STATED tracking force usually in grams.

Most arms are roughly calibrated to weight but not always.

Record keeps skipping arm won't move toward center of record

Sounds like your arm is tracking too light. To proper set the tracking weight on most units you need to zero the arms balance so that it is balanced just at the surface of the record. Once that is done using the weight on the back of the tone arm, or whatever system your unit uses, there should be an adjustment by turning the weight on the arm or perhaps a lever near it. You owners manual should really explain all this and give the recommended tracking weight in grams and fractions of grams. Each weight is different for different styli. Take a look at your operation manual and adjust the weight. Let me know how you make out.

Arm does not track properly but skips across records

Just guessing, but it sounds like you haven't counterbalanced your tone arm.  When a tone arm skips, it's usually because there's too much counter weight on the rear of the tone arm.  You want between 3-5 grams, but first you have to calibrate your tone arm (balance it so you know where zero is).  If you don't know how to do this, refer to the Ion directions called "Tonearm Setup" in the instructions.

You need to adjust the downward force by adjusting the counter weight which is on the back of the tone arm. Rotate it so it's closer to the tone arm fulcrum to increase the weight on the arm, like tightening a nut on a bolt.

Philips 777 stylus force adjustment

LM15 has an elliptical stylus so 1,5 - 1,8g should be sufficient, and also dial the same number on the anti skate for elliptical stylus and go for it
