Brother MFC 9440 won't recognize new toner cartridge

I have just replaced all three colour cartridges at the "toner end" message but on restarting the machine has not recognised that the cyan one is changed so I cannot print anything. I have rebooted the machine twice but I still get the 'cyan toner life end message.

    Have you done the factory reset so the machine knows the cartridges have been replaced? Refer to the user manual or the built in software manual. I don't know the procedure for this particular unit.

    Hi Donna, It sounds like a faulty cartridge am I correct in asuming you are using a aftermarket/refill/remanufactured non original brother cyan cartridge?

    I couldn't find anywhere in the manuals for factory reset except the networking but found a site that after scrolling through many many posts gave me the solution.
    Open main door with power on and push clear/back button takes you to the toner reset menu. This worked immediately. Thanks for your response.

    I did put in a remanufactured cartridge at first but on getting the toner life end message again i put in my back up half used original but the problem didn't go away. All good now see comment above. Many thanks.

Brother MFC 7820N, I am getting "Toner End Life"

I fail to see why you are covering up the toner sensor led's when you have a new cartridge fitted?
Also if you are using a recycled toner from a very well known uk shop that refills toners and ink then you may well have broken the drive gear that stirs the toner. i have seen this six times and their toners do this.
It could well be one of the pitfuls of recycled toners.

Can i refill tonner on MFC- 9440 CN laser printer

You can, but it a dirty job. I would not recommend it as the toner powder is very fine and you don't want to breath in this toner powder.
If you don't want to purchase a new toner cartridge, then I recommend you buy a re-manufactured toner cartridge for your model printer. They cheaper than the new Brother toner cartridges and usually contain more toner and the drum cartridge components have been refurbished.

My Brother MFC-7220 shows the error message "Dust

Try cleaning the drum in the toner cartridge with a soft cloth. If this does not work then a replace toner cartridge is the other solution.

Black dots on printed page from Brother 9440 color laser printer

The problem lies with the black toner cartridge. This is a common problem in these machines due to poor design by Brother. Best solution is to replace the offending color toner cartridge.

I REPLACE THE TONER CARTRIDGE BUT ON LCD IT DISPLAY MESSAGE TONER LIFE END,OPEN FRONT COVER AND REPLACE TONER CARTRIDGE

Is this a genuine Brother replacement cartridge, if not you may find that it is not recognised by your MFC. Also worth a try is removing and reinstalling the new cartridge ensuring all protective packaging is removed. Also remove and reinstall the Drum unit as Brother actually recommend this as part of a new toner install

Refill toner Brother MFC 7420

open front cover, press OPTION button, on the LCD will appear a message "NEW DRUM?" ....DO NOT RESPOND....just type on the keyboard "*00" and there will appear a message "Accepted" and use it in your pleasure.

PS. in any case i blocked with paper labels the viewing windows from transparent plastic on the toner itself....
