Line going down page

My Canon DR-2050C scanner started putting a line down the page of the image. I do routine maintenance on the scanner and when that started, cleaned the rollers, etc. I cleaned the glass, can't tell if there's a scratch, but I still have a straight line going down the page. I've never had this happen before and use the scanner on a regular basis. I checked the counter and I'm only at 2300 pages. Any suggestions?

We have also noticed many vertical lines running the length of the paper; we have also tried cleaning the rollor and the glass inside but have not had any luck. We would greatly appreciate a sollution to this problem!

I am having the same issue with one of our scanners.  Replaced the rollers and cleaned the glass, but the image will still have a line in it

This happened once before and it was just a smudge of ink, but this time, I have found a scratch on the glass inside. I am not sure how this happened since I just scanned documents yesterday and today I have a stripe running down the side of my documents. I haven't had any luck so far finding a replacement for that part yet.

Don't know if this is a solution per se but I replaced the glass bar (there is a part # on it) on the inside front of the scanner and still got a line. Then I played around with the back scanner glass and still got a line then I got in there real good and cleaned and when I scanned something it would show no lines until I saved the document then I got two lines. Thought it was my software going haywire but I did not give up, got some canned air and alcohol and cleaned the glass once again and blew out every part I could find and the problem resolved itself. Apparently the smallest piece of lint or dust, smudge or anything foreign on the scanner lenses will cause this line. But I love this scanner and I wasn't willing to give it up or pay $600 for a new one. Only had it a little more than a year. Persistence seems to be the key but check those little scanner bars and be careful, they are tricky to get out.

I have a fax/printer/scanner. A paper got jammed in the ADF (automatic document feeder), and after that it started scanning a line down the entire page. I cleaned all the wheels of toner dust in the ADF. Still a line. Opened the flatbed portion, cleaned the glass and lid- still a line. Looked more closely and noticed another set of wheels under the flatbed lid, just beyond the document padding in the lid. Cleaned them and voila!

Black line on image

It's possible that the black lines you're experiencing are an internal image adjustment issue with the scanner itself. If the scanner glass is otherwise clean, try going to the Canon DR2050/2080 utilities installed as part of the set up of your scanner and running the Adjustment Tool - it asks you to place the "adjustment paper" in the scanner. The term, "adjustment paper," appears to mean anything which has an image or text on it. Be sure you clean the scanner first before running this utility. It will have you put the "adjustment paper" through twice, and that in turn should remove the black lines in your scans, as long as there is no dust on the scanner glass. Office Depot sells cleaner sheets for laser and inkjet printers which also work on faxes and scanners and which will clean the glass for you.

Canon DR-2050C Scanner gets verticle line down image

I have the same issue with mine and there are 2 image sensors on this scanner. 1 in the back that you will see when you open the front that has a meteal shield covering the top half, and one in the fold out front that faces the inside. These are the "glass" sections everyone is refering to. Problem is, they are plexiglass, not glass and mine has a tiny scratch in the lens that is causing the line. This could be your problem. find the lens and use a LED flashlight to inspect your lens for scratches. If its scratched like mine, the entire module has to be replaced to fix it. The canon part number is MH7-7038 and they range from $125-$160 if you replace it yourself. The one in the front is easy to do, but the back one is a little tricky. Hope this helps. E. No image after scanning

The paper sensor must be checked. Check if there is a speck of paper stuck inside the sensor. Blow with a vacuum cleaner.

DR-2050C Scanner all sheets feed thru only one scans

Do you get an error message after the first scanned image? If not, check your software settings to see if you have the option of single page /multipage scanning. Some software lets the customer choose a single page scan when the SCAN button is pressed.

Check the "Feed Select Lever" to make sure it is in mutifeed position. If not, it will grab all of the docs at once.

Problem with images

Make sure light does not shine directly on top of the scanner, if light goes in, you will still get lines...
Also: Try aligning the paper on the corner where the arrows are, and close the feeder guides.
