When printing parts of the text are missed out as if a white line has been drawn through them. I have changed the ink cartridge and cleaned several times but no success

I think you need to change your ink cartridge.

Ink lines are clogged, sometimes unfixable, Try deep cleaning cycle.

pull out the black cartridge then get a tissue paper try pressing the nozzle again the tissue paper but not so hard then release look for the straight line that appear on the tissue paper if it is not change it

There may be some dust on the contact on the printer, first thing you should do is get a q-tip and clean the contacts carefully to ensure there is no dust or other contaminants on the contacts where the cartridge connects.
Also please could you supply the printers make and model so I can look into this further

The problem with your printer is the print head. Usually you have to run the clean nozzle thing 5 or 6 times to clean the print head nozzles and if there's still no improvement after that then print head needs to be changed for the printer to work properly. The bad news is that a print head costs almost as much as a new printer.

I have a brother MFC 3240C. My Black ink stopped printing(initially printed horizontal faded lines and gradually got worse), the other colors were printing fine. I tried cleaning numerous time( 50 -100 times over 1-2 weeks ). Still no improvement. The way I print now is:
1. I go to Printer Properties
2. Change Media type from "Plain Paper" to "Inkjet Paper".
3. Change Quality to "Photo".

This takes a long time to print 1-2 minutes per page. However, this works for me since this is my Home printer and use it for printing only few pages here are there.

you have a defective or near empty toner cartridge. Try shaking it side to side

You should do :
1st; Try to fix that by the device's Appliaction
smthing like that

2nd; Uninstall every application for this device and re-install it again.
3rd; If your printer have 1 Cartridge for all colors, Cleanse the part of ink output (the nozzle of ink cartridge) with wet tissue.

you should open the software or on the printer select clean print cartridges, or align cartridged

Your ink cartridge (s) is dried up, even some new ones are dried up, even tho' they're sealed.

Some self-tests don't use black.
