We purchased a business and a Canon dr-9080c. I have the driver installed for the Windows 7 64 machine, but we need to know what software to use to run it. The original disks are not with the machine

Hi Joseph, you should be able to find the driver for your OS on the Canon website here. imageFORMULA DR 9080C Color Production Scanner

You will need to purchase the CD "Canon Barcode Module III" and install it on your computer: Mfg. Part: 1922B001
Then you can select it in Canon's document scanning software/Capture Perfect.

Uninstall all drivers and scanning software. Switch off the comp and Scanner, restart the scanner first and then the computer, reinstall drivers and scanning software. Pls run scandisk on the Computer and ensure the OS is okay.

First check if the scanner is working in 'offline' mode by 'counting' a few pages.
Connect to the comp, if SCSI is the interface, you need to start the scanner first, if USB you can connect the scanner even after comp powering on. If the scanner is not recognised, reinstall driver software and scanning software.

I have many years experience working with Canon scanners. So I may be of some help to you.

Canon parts like the lens your looking for are captive parts through a canon dealer. My one suggestion to you is try Ebay. Sometimes you can run across someone on there that is stripping down a scanner and is more than happy to sell you the part you need. If you need any other help let me know. Have you loaded Device drivers, if not download from http://software.canon-europe.com/products/0010035.asp
Once the driver is loaded you can even use Microsoft Imaging to scan. CapturePerfect is easy and brings out the added features of Canon 9080C.

CapturePerfect ver 3 is on chargeable basis! You can download ver 2.0 from http://software.canon-europe.com/software/0022439.asp?model= Though this is listed under Canon DR 5020, it works fine with DR 9080C. DR 9080C has very intelligent features and ver 2 works fine. I do not know if there are addl features with ver 3.0. I have used for scanning over 500,000 docs.

Captureperfect 3 is not available on the Net. Only version 2.311 is available. (It may also be called upgrade) Download this and this can meet yr basic requiremnts. http://software.canon-europe.com/products/0010035.asp

The upgrades wont work without ver 3.0!

I have the same model Canon DR-9080C scanner which I recently acquired and I'm trying to figure out how used it is. I see many referrign to a counter. I see the big LCD on top front, but how do you know how many total pages have been scanned through it? I read somewhere there is a mechanical scanner. Is this true?
