Try cleaning the staple detection sensors in the machine. Most of the time if you blow air gently into the machine to clear dust from the sensors.

Try turning off the Staple detection option in the settings.

You will need to check your page settings. As each program is different, the page setup will generally stay the same. It will also change if you are scanning at 0, 90, 180, or 270 degrees as well.

Which sensor do you need to replace? These machines have several sensors throught the machine that assist with lifting the tray, watching for staples, and even double feed detection.

Sounds like you have a scratched lens. If you have another unit, try replacing the lens from that one. If you do not, you will need to replace the complete unit or see if you can find one on Ebay.

Try changing the exchange rollers (Feed, pickup, and retard rollers)

Two step process, scan and save the image, then print and select landscape

Check the roller cover. If the roller cover is not firmly closed it will cause a feed error.
I opened and firmly closed the roller cover until I hear it click.
