SOURCE: Hi I have a Central Pneumatic model 94667 air

On this particular issue, I agree with trpabc, given the description; you most likely need a new pressure switch. It's unlikely that it suddenly got out of adjustment, therefore a new one is in order.

I had the same issue you had, and after reading your post, I went down to my garage to investigate... Turns out the valves in the compressor are just simple reed valves, like on a 2-cycle engine, and my inlet valve had some gunk baked on it, which didn't allow it to shut all the way, giving me only 60 PSI. I cleaned all the parts with a wire brush, then polished the surfaces with 1000 grit sandpaper, and it runs like a new one again. :o) I don't think you can actually crack those thin sheets of metal...

The plastic cover over the fan seems to be touching the fan blades. When I remove it its very quiet but when I put it on it seems to be slightly touching the blades and makes a noise. Can this be fixed....

There are two causes
1. The blades are out of alignment Check to see if blade nut is loose and look behind the blades at the shaft to make sure the notches ate in the shaft pins, off is clockwise.

2. The cover is not mounted correctly to the fan housing. Make sure its not upside down and the two halves are together properly and rightside up

Hope this helps Mike.

I have GE ADORA DSS25KSRDSS FREEZER FAN NOISE, how do you remove the cover panel to get to the fan that hits the cover ?

This model is quite the stinker and everything, and I mean everything has to come out to make it easy to remove the fan motor.

I have found that on GE's the blade becomes loose and that is what hits. Sometimes the blade is no longer available since Haier now owns them.

Take pictures during disassembly and lay everything out on towels so it can go back together right and take your time! This is a tough one

My quiet bathroom fan makes a roaring noise

The roaring noise is probably the fan blades (looks like a hamster wheel) are worn out as it rotates on the spindle/shaft.

It may be a problem with the 4" exhaust ducting, that connects to the exit part of the fan, has come loose. Theres a damper (kinda like a flapper) at the fan/ducting joint may have broken off and may be sitting sideways in the ducting flapping around inside the duct.

At any rate I highly doubt its wiring. Sounds like its time to pull the fan cover off (turn the power off first via the wall switch or the service panel breaker would be even better) and look at the fan blades. Clean off any dust bunnies, lint, etc. and turn the fan back on. Did the noise stop?

If nothing looks out of place and it still makes noise you'll have to get in the attic and remove the ducting from the fan and see if theres a problem at the connection there. Maybe a squirrel put its bedding in the ducting? It happens.

Could be lots of reasons for the noise but wiring it wrong wouldn't cause roaring. The fan wouldn't work, or worst burn up, if wiring was the issue. The problem is the more than likely the fan blade assy is worn out or something is restricting the air flow in the ducting going to the outside of the house.

One of the ties of my scrub top got stuck in the lint catcher (the catcher was out of the dryer doing use). I had to pull it out and it broke off. Now the dryer makes this louder noise and shakes a...

you need to remove the back of the machine, and remove the vent cover inside the back,, you'll see a fan blade,, that cord probably got turned around the fan,, Just remove it and you should be fine, Unless it broke off some of the blades, which will cause it to vibrate and not flow the air as good

A noise coming from freezer, sort of howling and surging

CHECK FOR ICE AROUND THE FAN BLADES AND CHECK TO SEE IF THE FAN BLADES ARE TOUCHING THE SIDES OF THE AIR FLOW DUCT OPENING. WHEN THE BLADES TOUCH THESE OBJECTS THEY CAN MAKE A NOISE LIKE THIS. A MOTOR THAT IS ABOUT TO GO BAD MAY ALSO MAKE THIS NOISE. IF THE BLADES ARE'NT TOUCHING ANYTHING THEN YOU MAY NEED TO REPLACE THE FAN MOTOR. ALSO THE FAN BLADE MAY BE LOOSE ON THE SHAFT THAT IT SITS ON,TRY SLIDING THE BLADE BACK OR FORWARD AND SEE IF IT CONTINUES TO MAKE THE SOUND.

Freezer fan noise

Remove the freezer panel to access the fan motor. Look for any obstruction around the fan or blade. Ice, misplaced wire etc.
Check the fan blade. Sometimes they slip down the shaft too far.
If you find none of these issues, replace the fan motor.

Loud Rattling Noise While Running

That's the blower fan blade loose on the motor shaft making the noise. Once you replace that the noise should clear up. You don't provide the make and model so I can't give you a part number, but you can Google search for "replacement fan" for your specific model. Sears' parts site (www.searspartsdirect.com) is a good place to start. Enter your model number and they have exploded views and parts information for most models. Then you can use the information to shop around. There are many online vendors for appliance parts.

There are also several websites showing the steps for getting into the dryer to replace the part. Replacing the fan blade is not a difficult job to do yourself if you are comfortable with a screwdriver and have a little mechanical aptitude. Otherwise an appliance technician could repair this for probably an hour labor charge plus parts ad trip fee. Certainly less than a new dryer would cost.
