We get many chinese compressors with burned capacitors. Most seem to use a 140 uf 250v ac metal run cap.(fairly large metal ). The cap will test bad but not look burned. The motors look pretty crude in the way that they are wound (no start winding) and varnish used on the wiring will not take the heat like other motors. Most likely faulty windings. If you try another cap (or two caps to make value)make sure that the voltage is 250 or higher and run type (metal or light color plastic, not the black start caps) (the higher the voltage the better the quality of materials used ). If the checkvalve is faulty at the tank, the motor will have a higher load at start and run (with out start winding motor works harder to start, if all components are not working correctly, motor /cap will overheat ). Check before next test. Good luck

Professional-grade varieties are automatic, and fire a nail directly upon pulling the trigger. A semi-automatic nail gun is more appropriate for beginners, since it requires a two step process: pull the trigger and then tap the barrel against the wood. This safety feature protects the user from accidentally firing a nail gun and injuring himself or others.

sounds like your check or reed valve is bad. when the piston pressurizes and pushes air into tank the pressure should not be able to come back into cylinder and thsi is what its doing and then that pressure is now going past rings into oil. look for the valve before the tank. a check valve.

make sure it is actually achieving full shutoff pressure. I had the same compressor and had a valve crack and the compressor would run nonstop but never got above about 40 psi.

The best way to determine if air is reletavely clean is to make sure that the air filter is clean and that you drain out water from tanks daily. For a visual/ verify that air is clean, install a water trap /filter to the end of the airline like the one pictured here:

Good luck

Hi. Get an aerosol can of a penetrating lubricant called WD-40. Apply a few squirts to the action end of the nailer. let it sit for a couple of hours and then try it again. Repeat if necessary. J.

Generally two reasons for nails not to make contact with driver. Make sure that the driver is returning to top of cylinder. If it stays in the path of the nail feeder, the nail cannot slide into position. Second, nails are not the right type or gauge for gun. Some nails even if they are the right gauge have a large head not allowing the strip to enter into chamber. Remove air hose from gun, check that piston is all the way up, then slide nails into chamber and see if they go all the way in easily with-out having to push. You should see the first nail in place from bottom where nail shoots out. The angle of the nail is very important. most pin nailers are 0 degree (not angled), but others have an angle. The gun should be labeled as to angle of nail. Hold a strip of nails against the outside of the magazine and see is the first nail is in line with the driver path. Good luck and post again if you have other question.

Can you hear the air coming out? Or it is not pumping up at all? If the air is not coming out somewhere like the bypass or the regulator, or the drain plugs, then the reeds are shot in the head, it is an easy fix, and an easy part to get, I hope, call Dewalt's hotline and tell them what's happening, they will fix you up.

Sounds to me like the check valve is sticking. Where the pipe enters the tank, there is a check valve to keep this from happening. If that valve leaks, it will leak the tank down through the unloader.

sounds like the pressure switch/on-off switch is bust get hold of anew one

THe most likely causes of this are not enough air pressure (90 psi) or a nail is jammed in the front, causing the striker to stick down. Also, if it hasn't been oiled in a long time, that could cause it.

Depending on the model that you have it is more than likely the piston seal/rings or the reed valves and plates. You should be able to remove the pump head and inspect these two parts to see if there is any damage. Be advised that once you remove the head you may have to replace the gasket because it may get damaged.

Maybe is time for a service maintenace, this units you can replace all the O" rings, they came in a MaintenaceKit (with instructions) and price is real low., comparing to other brands. Keep in mind, the oil "eat" the clear plastic rings that are inside, that is why u can NOT put a lot of oil , just 2-3 drops Pneumatic oil per day. Also water\humidity from the compressor damage all components inside the nailer. Do not be afraid to open it (just to take a look inside) is 4 screws. of course is the unit is still covered by the warranty take it to your nearest servicenter.

hope this will help.
