Lexmark X4650 InkJet Printer black prints fuzzy.

Try to check and make sure your black ink level is still good and not about to go empty. On the printer operator panel, press the Setup button > Maintenance > Ink Levels.
If the black ink level is still good, make sure the cartridges are aligned. Try this approach. On the printer operator panel, press the Setup button > Maintenance > Align Cartridges. Your printer will then print a page forcing ink through the cartridge nozzles and clean them as well as align the cartridges.
Try to print a document again to verify that the print quality has improved.

Peper jam

Leading cause of paper jams is debris/foreign objects that accidentally fell into the paper feed area. Please follow steps below to fix the problem:

1. Remove the sheets of paper from the feeder.

2. Grab a flashlight and look inside the feeder for any debris or foreign objects.

3. If you're willing and physically able, you may also turn the printer over. Any debris should just freely roll out from the feeder.

4. If feeder is clear, place the printer back on the table, open the printer cover and remove the cartridges.

5. Check the cartridge area for any obstructions/debris in the cartridge carrier's path or the paper path.

6. If cartridge area is clear, close the cover.

7. Re-brick your printer. Pull out the power supply, black box where the power cord is plugged in at the back of the printer, and put it back after 30 seconds.

8. When the printer turns on, reinsert the cartridges and load some paper. Try to print a document again to verify that the problem is fixed.

Carrier Jam, there's nothing in

The thin strip could be the encoder strip (transparent strip) which is responsible for the proper movement of the cartridge carrier along the carrier assembly. Please contact Lexmark Technical Support Center for additional assistance.

X4650 ..alignment problem....says remove ribbon....how???

1. Get a damp paper towel.
2. Set the ink cartridge right side up on the damp paper towel so that the ink nozzles are against the towel and hold the cartridge in this position for about 15 seconds.
3. Now wipe the print head (on the bottom where the ink comes out) across in one direction only (left to right) until it looks clean.
4. Next dab the cartridge on the towel to make sure that the ink is flowing.
5. Snap the cartridges back into the printer.
6. Make sure that you Remove the Transparent Cover which is there on the Ink Nozzle!!!

My printer which is an lexmark x4650 just stopped

It could be just a slight communication problem. A quick fix for most communication errors can be achieved by resetting the printer and/or rebooting the PC. Simply disconnect the printer from your computer. Reboot your pc. Unplug and re-plug the printer into the power source to reset it. When the printer turns on, reconnect it to your computer. Then try to print again once the computer fully recognizes the USB connection.

If that doesn't help, try the steps below:

1. Disconnect the printer from your computer.

2. Rebrick (pull out power supply, black box where the power cord is plugged in at the back of the printer, and put it back after 30 seconds).

2. On your computer, go to Control Panel > Printers and Faxes.

3. Delete the Lexmark print object.

4. Reboot your pc.

5. When your pc turns on, reconnect the printer.

6. Wait until your pc fully recognizes the USB connection. To check, go to Control Panel > Printers and Faxes. If you see a new Lexmark print object in the list, then try to print a document again to verify that the problem is fixed.

You may also try to update your printer driver by visiting the Lexmark website at http://bit.ly/iofMNC. Select your operating system, download and execute the file.

We put a new color ink cartridge in our lexmark

Try cleaning the mating surfaces of the cartridges with rubbing alchohol on a cue tip. If the printer was out of ink for a while the ink dries on the surface.

My computer is telling me

This could either be a slight communication problem between your printer and your computer or a communication issue between one of your cartridges and the printer. Please follow the steps below to fix the problem:
  1. Reboot your computer.
  2. If usb-connected, disconnect the printer from your computer.
  3. Open the printer cover and remove the cartridges. Note: If the carrier does not automatically move to the center, turn off the printer/unplug the printer from the power source and then slide the carrier to the center to remove the cartridges.
  4. Close the cover.
  5. Rebrick the printer (pull out the power supply, black box where the power cord is plugged in at the back of the printer, and put it back after 30 seconds).
  6. When the printer turns on, reinsert one cartridge first and close the cover. Check for any errors.
  7. Reinsert the other cartridge and check for any errors again.
  8. Replace whichever cartridge is causing the error to appear with a new cartridge or with a different known working cartridge.
  9. If usb-connected, reconnect the USB cable to your computer.
  10. Try to print from your computer to verify that the problem is fixed.
I hope this information has been helpful.
