what discs are you using as they need to be compatible with the recorder, some discs are one time recording others are + or - and some are rewritable, there is also settings for format that have to be set for the discs.

Yes you can. Final Cut Pro supports almost all types of video format.

Try pulling the battery out and putting it back in then charging it. If that doesn't help anything sounds like you have a battery that needs to be replaced.

Hi if you do not have the manual, suggest you download from samsung. Same thing happened to me, you know what have forgotten already!!

I did same, free download copy of the unit's manual. Get their addres through google, just type in samsung.

Best thing to do is to order a replacement disc from Samsung. Unfortunately, these files are licensed so you cannot just download it anywhere. Give Samsung a call and ask them to send you a replacement disc.

Try formatting the SD card using your computer. Insert the SD card in your computer. Open My Computer, find your SD card drive, right click on it and select Format. Choose FAT for the filesystem and continue with the format. When the format is complete, insert the card into your DVD Camcorder and try again. Hi,
Symptom indicates problem of ccd imager chip failure in camcorder that is why no live image in camera mode for fresh recording.
Please replace ccd imager chip in camcorder to solve this problem, local camera repair shop will do this job because camcorder will take apart and soldering work is required for ccd imager chip replacement.

About "Write Error" is says:

Your disc or memory card has some problems in writing data. Disc is shocked while movies is being recorded onto the disc.

To fix the error it says:

To recover previous data in your disc or memory card, turn the power off and on. After recovering data, the system will be switched to STBY mode. If it fails to recover data, "Disc Error" or "Card Error" appear.

Apparently if you get "Disc Error" then the disc has become unusable.

You are probably experiencing a codec problem by the sound of what you are describing.

Firstly , download a codec pack. The one I would recommend is Klite as it has most codecs you can ever need.

You can download it here.

Just install it and restart your computer then try playing your video again.

If this does not work , please do the following to help me identify the problem.

1. Go to a video file on your computer.
2. Right click on the file and select properties.
3. Then open the Details tab and scoll down to the "Video" heading.
4. Note down the total bitrate and the frame rate.
5. Scoll to file heading and note the Item type.
6. Send me those 3 details.

Also , what operating system are you using and do you have any video software loaded on it?

First, check to make sure you have (installed) a (device) driver (on your laptop/PC), for your laptop to recognize the camcorder when connected with a USB cable. When you first connect the camcorder to the laptop, the laptop should see a "new" device and attempt to install the driver (on your laptop). If your laptop doesn't locate the driver on your (laptop's) disk, you will need to insert the software CD that came with the camcorder - that's where the driver is provided.

After you hook the card up to the computer, you should be able to drag and drop them into the computer.

These will normaly do that on opening door, it closes disk after ending writing.

look at bottom of ac charger check output voltage ...see wether it`s same as battery voltage..

Samsung support just told me that there has to be some space left on the disc to finalize it. In other words if you fill the disc with too much video, the disc won't be able to write the necassary info on the disc to finalize it. Support told me you needed 10MB to finalize. He also told me to leave 7- 10 minutes of free space which is ridiculous because the disc only records 20 minutes. I have complained to Samsung about this ommission from the manual and that the camcorder should know to leave enough space to finalize the disc.>
