It is probably one of two things. Either the solonoid valve has failed or the water line is frozen. If it has a filter change that, I am not familliar with that unit.

I cannot provide information on the particular problem but I suggest you find the model and serial number of your refrigerator and search the Whirlpool website for any service bulletins or recalls. In the meantime keep the water turned off to the refrig. until a repair is identified.

It should be located behing the rear panel of the freezer compartment.

Emma: The lock and unlock feature is accomplished by holding the lock button for 3 seconds, and you will see a count down number just above it that indicates 3, then 2, then 1, and a soft tone along with the lock icon appears. To reverse this hold the same button for 3 seconds following the same procedure and the unlock icon will appear.

That's an easy one, the draw is not in correctly, preventing the door to close properly. Clean up the mess then work with the draw until it seats properly, then double check that the door seals closes right.

YOU WILL NEED TO CHECK FIRST FOR WATER IN THE MOLD OF ICE MAKER(WHERE CUBES ARE MADE). THEN MAKE SURE THE LEVER THAT TELLS WHE THE ICE MAKER IS IN THE DOWN POSITION

Hi, According to the information you gave, you have no factory installed filter in this unit. However, in this case, most people would have installed a water filter in the water line itself to the unit. Although it is possible to filter the water for this unit, Whirlpool did not sell this model with a internal filter. I hope this helped. There is a solenoid valve that operates when the ice maker cam rotates and operates a micro switch or a smart chip to open this valve allowing water to flow into the ice maker. This cam or smart switch times the water flow to allow just enough water to fill the tray and then allows the solenoid to close. (a solenoid is just an electro-magnetic plunger) Your solenoid may be bad or the water line may have an ice plug in the part of the hose that goes into the ice maker.(This can happen if your freezer is turned up too high and your water line freezes) Also the smart chip (controller) may be bad. You can use the old hair dryer trick to try and unfreeze the line, but if your controller has gone south, then the circuit board has to be replaced. You can go to http://www.whirlpool.com/manuals/ and input your model number and get a manual for the machine. If you are a competent DIY person, you may be able to repair it your self.

Is the condensation tray overflowing? Is water collecting in the bottom of it? Is it seeping out of the cabinet? Or is it dripping from the water dispenser? With no indication of where it's leaking from, how much water and for how long it leaks, there's a large number of possibilities. Dripping from the water dispenser is almost certainly a bad solenoid valve, the rubber diaphragm is worn, sediment has collected on the seat or the spring is fatigued. Water and/or ice collecting in the bottom means the condensate drain is plugged, best thing to clean it with is a short piece of 1/8" woven steel cable, sometimes called wire rope. Gently push it down the drain hole inside the box a few times and flush with soapy warm water. If the condensation tray is overflowing and you live in a humid area it may be normal to have to empty it periodically. It may also be an indication of a door seal leak. If it's seeping from the cabinet, it likely indicates soaked insulation, which is a serious efficiency problem. It's usually caused by an interior crack in the lining. Water is a conductor, so its presence in the insulation layer reduces its effectiveness. If none of these fit your case, please provide more details.

Many units have a fan to blow the cold from the freezer compartment to the refrigerator compartment. If this fan quits the result would be what you have. This is the most likely, I believe.

Try looking for any pipes that are rattling against the cabinet , if not, I'm afraid compressor problem.

This may sound silly but have you checked the doors? there is normally a button @ the door frame. When the door is closed the button is pressed in thus turning the light off. when the door is open the button pops out and on comes the light. Check this out, Look for the button, when you find it try pushing it in a few times.If it is stuck in get a tweezers & pull it out gently. A drop of oil rubbed around the button may help ease it. the button is spring loaded so it should loosen up after a while. Best of luck. H McK.

It should shut off after satisfying the thermostat control setting. The control could be bad or the refrigerator is not cooling enough. Check to see if the coils under the refrigerator are not blocked with lint and the fan by the compressor in back is turning. Also check if the fan blade is not dirty with lint. These things could cause the refrigerator to run constantly.

generally there is a Philips screw at the edge of the plastic cover,or sometimes you can squeeze or press in the sides of the cover.Check the make & model and go in line to the company,They usually will have a manual where you can find out the answer.Best of luck.

There is a good chance that the clear shield has come out of its mount and is jamming the mechanism. Check to see if this is thae case. It is a bit tricky to get it back in but you should see a tab on the back side of the shield and it clips into a slot on the actuator arm.
