Unless you have too much on that circuit already this does not sound good. Have someone do this test below. How to Test For a Burnout CompressorUnplug the refrigerator and remove the back panel that covers the compressor. There should be 3 wires going inside the cover of the compressor. Mark all 3 and mark their location so if compressor is OK you can put them back in same order. The plastic cover may snap on and you may need to squeeze the sides to unlock the cover and sometimes there is a metal clip holding the cover in place. Remove the cover. May look hard but it's simple. There will be three connections under the cover and 2 will go through the start relay. Unplug them leaving the three prongs exposed. They may be marked R =Run, S=Start and C=Common. Set your meter on continuity and then begin by testing 2 at a time until you have checked S to R and R to C an C to S and S to R again. You should get a reading all the way around. If no reading between any of the pairs as you go around you should get no reading between any two the compressor has an open winding and is defective. Then if it passes that test then touch one probe to R and the other to the copper pipes or clean metal on outside of compressor, then S to metal outside and C to metal outside. If you get a reading this way even just a little. The compressor is a burnout. Then let me know what you find. Thanks, Sea Breeze

Hi Paul. I understand that food is freezing in your refrigerator. Make sure the vents are not blocked, and that the food items are not in front of the vents. What is the model number?

Look at bottom of fridge. Usually at the bottom corner

Try to replace the compressor start relay and overload. If it would not help then the compressor has gone bad.

Can you disconnect the end from the dispenser and get a piece of wire or similar to clean the inside? Or better still, replace the tubing completely?

Ice makers have a heating element to thaw the inlet and allow water to flow into them perhaps the heater is broken and it can't get water to make ice. Check the hopper to be sure it has ice in it. If it does check it for obstructions from the hopper to the door.

You need to check the overload relay on the compressor and make sure that the coils near the compressor are clean of debris and duct.

Have your refrigerator checked for leaks...

Open the ice storage box...ice will jam up not allowing the ice to drop down the shute.....

All you need to do is turn water off until someone can replace the dual water control valve found on floor and back side of your refrigerator. You are going to need your model number so you can find the correct parts. Most Whirlpool Refrigerator model numbers are found inside the fresh food compartment and around the door. Whirlpool refrigerators made in the U. there is a slot at the bottom of each corner of the front panel. use a screwdriver and the panel will pop off.

no reset button. could be defrost timer, main board or compressor overload. probably best to call for service

put your finger in the ice mold and see if there is ICE in the mold. if no ice then use a turkey baster and put approx 1/4 cup of water into the ice mold, slowly. in about 2 hrs you should hear ice drop and then refill with water. if there is ice in the mold, you most likely need a new ice maker.
