How do i remove the pedestal base

There should be four screws attaching the base plate flange to the back of the set. The flange of the base goes inside the bottom of the set so the screws should be near each other on the lower back. In rare cases I have seen a smaller plastic cover that clips on and off over top of the screws.
I hope this helps,

Horizontal lines across whole screen

This problem is usually caused by a bad LCD controller(T-con) or the LCD panel itself. I would suggest that you give the t-con a shot and see if it fixes the problem. It is very inexpensive and easy to replace and I would give you the instructions if you want to do it yourself.

Using cable remote when box is in another room

The IR detector of the remote will work only with a direct visual contact. hence it si important that the cable box must be located in the same room so as the remote works perfectly.
The remote might work with a deflection by it might not be a good solution.
You can move the cable box to the position of the TV so that it works well.

Screen is all Green

New cable box recently? If not, your cable provider has probably pushed a firmware update to your cable box. Green screens are very common with HDMI connection. From your symptom, I am going to take a guess that you are connected via HDMI. If so, switch to Component cables and your problem is solved. It's not the TVs fault... cable boxes seem to be the single largest problem child for HDMI compatibility. I hope this was of some assistance.

I am trying to connect my LCD Hi-def television to

Hi,

You can only use your TV for viewing internet from your computer by using the TV as a PC monitor. To do this you should connect your computer to your TV using a standard VGA cable - the same as you would use to connect your computer to any other external monitor. You should note that this cable doesn't carry a sound signal so you can't use the TV speakers for sound output.

However, you can connect an HDMI cable from your computer to your TV to play media files or DVDs. This cable does carry a sound signal so you will be able to use your TV speakers here. This cable cannot be used for turning your TV into a PC monitor.

And all of above shouldn't be confused with "Internet TV". This is something totally different and requires your TV to be connected directly to the internet.

Hope this helps.

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. From what you have described it seems that the inverter board is fine so it is either the T-con board in the unit has gone bad and/or it is not getting the required 12vdc from the power supply unit. If you have knowledge of internal circuitry of the unit then you can open the back of the unit and check the T-con board which is the last board before the LCD panel. Usually it is available with the LCD Panel. All this is only recommended if you have electrical expertise & know how to solder/re-solder components as these units contain high voltages even when in off position. Please accept the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.

Thanks

This site would be the best place to start. Sony has had many issues like yours since 2004 to current model SXRD LCD TV's. The main culprit seems to be the
optical block, however, it;s not just limited to that. Take a look at this site,
it has more info in one location including contact #'s at Sony for help. Hope
this eases the pain!

Can not change the channels on my Sony Bravia

Is this the original remote or a universal remote? Can you change the channel with the buttons on the right side of the TV?

Can you type in a channel number and go to that channel? (this applies if the channel will not change with the buttons on the TV.) Try to rescan the channels (it could be that the TV has the other channels hidden (or lost the list).

If it is a universal remote, you may not have the correct code (just a close one). Try additional codes for Sony TVs. Also when was the remote built? If it was programmed more than 6 months before the TV was released, then it will not have the correct codes. You would need a newer remote. A substitute remote can be obtained from https://servicesales.sel.sony.com/ecom/accessories/web/productSearch.do?sessionId=4q4-Cd8shqFs_c5rcVcD_Lw or http://www.remotes.com/remotes/servlet/rs?a=Search&o=c&uid=0&m=KDL-V32XBR1&uuid=12842263276080 .

I hope this helps.

Screen went black tv dead

That us definitely a power supply failure. Probably some kind of surge has knocked out the power supply. We can try a component level repair but the easiest way will be to replace the power supply board. Should cost you around 100-150 bucks.
