Try this: face the television; Left hand side on the edge; Look for the green input port (top hole); plug in headphone jack; should work

Try different cable, if you still get the problem after replacing cables, then you have a defective sygnal board (input board).

Is the Comcast box digital? and is it a Scientific America 8000 series box?

If so, try unplugging the power to the cable box for a minute, replug and after the reboot see if that fixes the problem...

Check the door for the lamp...over time mine distorted from the heat, and this was an error code for the door now being closed. Temporarilty I wegeded something in there to hold the switch closed, but ended up replacing the door.

Got an older model sony xbr 36 tv. Wanna program it to work with mt time warner cable. How do i do it. Yhe TV is about 4 -5 yrears old.

if it affects all inputs including the MENU or OSD on tv .There is a good possiblity your set need a whole new LCD panel .The panel comes withe digital board that when going bad will display weird images on screen.It is not available on its own .It only comes with new LCD panel.If it affects only certain inputs then you have a (B) board bad on tv .So tv might need service in the furture..
