With my Sony Bravia 46" xbr the screen keeps

Usually this happens to my set when I am in HD cable channel mode after being on a non-digital ANALOG channel.

I basically reset the TV by changing to a DIGITAL cable channel -- stay on that channel for ten-twenty seconds -- then I switch back DIRECTLY to a HD channel (key in channel number directly on remote).

TV works fine -- seems to be a glitch when the TV changes modes from Analog to HD

TV operates normally in all

The control board - the on-screen display processor is faulty. Since the the processor itself cannot be replaced you will gonna have to replace the entire video board.

Sony xbr lcd screen going all green on occasion

This is an HDMI compatibility problem. Your cable/SAT box is not playing very nicely with the TV. You can try replacing the cable/SAT box with a different model # or switch your connection type from HDMI to Component (5 wire connection). I hope this was helpful, best wishes.

Most broadcasters have gone over to digital service and you may need an outside antenna to improve reception. Even a piece of wire would help but a proper antenna is best.... Cheers!

TV switched itself off. Standby light flashing on

Subject

Unable to Power On or Off the set

Symptoms / Customer Description
The symptom may occur while the TV is ON or in Standby.

1) If the problem occurs while the TV is in Standby:
The TV will not turn on via the remote or power button located on the set however after AC reset (i.e. unplug the TV for at least 30 seconds from the AC source) the TV returns to normal operation.

2) If the problem occurs while the TV is in use:
You may lose the ability to power off the TV or switch the video inputs however channel changing, adjusting volume, or accessing the menu may still be possible. After AC reset (i.e. unplug the TV for at least 30 seconds from the AC source) the TV returns to normal operation.

Sony has designed the BRAVIA Televisions to be CUSTOMER Software Upgradeable and therefore Sony will not pay a service claim on any issue resolved by a software upgrade. If a customer requests an update please refer them to the following website: http://www.updatemytv.com. If the unit requires the update, you may enter the customer's information in the website and a USB device will be sent to their address.
If a customer does not have access to the web please have them call the Sony Call Center Support line: 1-866-210-6333

If a customer reports either symptom above request that they unplug the set from the AC wall outlet for at least 30 seconds and then plug the set back in. This will reset the TV and it should work fine for several months. If resetting the TV does not resolve the issue the customer has a different problem and a service call by a technician may be required

Sony Bravia XBR4 52inch LCD cracked

It can be replaced, but it is probably going to cost you more then the cost of a new TV to do it.

Read the tech tip I wrote on this very subject.

HDMI-connection from my computer stoped working

HDMI is a very buggy system, espicially with connecting computers. First off I would check the video output settings of your computer to ensure that HDMI is still active and that it is enabled for mirror monitor or double monitor.

First things first unplug and re-plug at every point. Power cycle the TV and the computer. If that doesnt work then remove the cable, power cycle both devices then re-plug...then move onto the next step.

If you are running windows XP or Vista, right click on the desktop, select "personalize" or "properties" then look at the display settings. There you can adjust the resolution, HDMI has some bandwidth issues with long cables and cheap cables. Try dropping the resolution of the HDMI output if you can't get a stable image.

If that doesn't help you may have to go into the settings of the graphics card, commonly refered to as "Advanced Settings" on XP.

If it still doesn't help get another HDMI source and test the TV, then get another display and test the computer.

Cheers,

In for repair I have

Tech on tech here is really, really conflict of interest here but I'll give it a shot :)

Seems to me to be the decoder/tuner board that is where the issue is. Now again I am not there in front of or behind the tv so I hope you do not assume that because I have Tv credentials that everything I say can be solved over email but here it goes.

I would replace the decoder/tuner on most units there on the same board so that is why I put decoder/tuner. I would have that diagnosed before assuming anything else. Also Bad capacitors can cause this erratic issue trust me replaced many to tell you a bad capacitor also could be present.

giving this that you a tech for Motorola I would take it you work on small devices where this issue I am talking about is not a present fact. I would say look at the decoder and probe from there. Thanks
