Samsung LN-S4051D 40 in. LCD Television - Page 6 Questions & Answers
My series 5 samsung lcd 40 inch A40C550 has turned
The noises you heard were caused by the power source being overstressed by a failing part - at that moment the source has been capable of barely compensating the failure. Unfortunately , because you kept using the tv, the failing part failed for good and , in the process of doing that, it shorted other components. This short is now detected by the protection system of the power source and it has shut it down - the blinking of the status light is the way in which this is signalled.
There is nothing more you can do - the fault has become too complicated for an inexperienced person to fix. Unplug the tv from the wall, call a repairman and expect a stiff bill - at least $250.

Hello - very angry had
The only thing you can do is to file the complaint with SAMSUNG and contact them. I will doubt it very much if they will do any repair for free, but that how TV companies are running the business these days, poor support that is what you will get.

Hello,
The issue you describe is consistent with a power supply board issue. This is the board where the AC goes to.
I do not think it needs replacement, rather some defective capacitors are causing this issue.
Open
unit up and take a look at the power supply board. You will probably see
one or more electrolytic filter capacitors that are bulged up in the
top-not perfectly flat like the others.
The value of these
capacitors will be different, most likely they will be somewhere
around-820 to 2200uF/25 V( or /10V sometimes)
You
can replace them with same values but I would recommend the voltage
rating to be higher(like 35V for an original 25V) for reliability
purposes.
What happens is,these bulged top capacitors will cause a
low and unfiltered DC voltage=main board will malfunction(the relay
will keep clicking until the caps are holding enough charge to bring the
voltage up over a threshold point).
You can buy these capacitors
at any Fry's or Radioshack store or you can order them online at vendors
like "mcmelectronics.com"(look for electrolytic capacitors).
After replacing these capacitor(capacitors) most likely the normal operation will be restored.
Note: There
may be also some other causes for this symptom ,like a defective T con
board ,or main board, but the bulged top capacitors are the most common
cause for this issue.
If you don't know about TV repairers, take
the TV to the nearest repairman to fix the fault for you. Also, note
that TV stores a lot of current, so wait a while before opening the TV
back cover.
I hope this helps.
Good luck.

When Tv is turned on picture comes on for a few
I have a similar problem, while searching internet, came across a solution maybe. Its the inverter board. the inverter board controls the picture in the flat screen televisions. Board may contain a power source capcitors, similar to the ones on the power board. I had changed the capacitors on the power board two years ago, capcitors from Radio Shack $ 1.67 each, vs. techincian $ 550.00.
You may want to also check YouTube, which shows you how to change a inverter board, cost of board ranges $ 55.00 to $ 105.00 on ebay. You can also just change the inverter on the board, may take some work on your end. Some samsung tv have two (2) inverter boards.
Good Luck

I am here to help you solve the problem, not trying to sell you parts that you may or may not needed.
Please read my guide first to get some understanding.
First, look at the screen in darkened room to see if you can see any slight glow from the screen, if it does, then the problem can be the T-CON (not getting the 12vdc) or the main logic board not feeding the signals to the T-CON board.
if not, next place to check will be the power supply module, make sure it has 24vdc which is required by the backlight inverter to work, the reason for not having 24vdc can be from bad DC filter caps (leaking/bulging top, high ESR) or short circuits in the inverter board which will cause the 24vdc supply to go into shutdown mode, so you may have to disconnect the power cable that feed the inverter board to see if the 24vdc will work without the inverter board hookup, you will need to apply about 3~4 amp of load to the 24vdc to make sure it can handle that. There are fuses on the backlight inverter boards also. So there is some troubleshooting you will have to do to find out the causes of the problem you are having.

My samsung 40in television just keep clicking but
Hi,
I think this is the same problem as I've just had on mine, and seems to be very common among Samsung LCD TV's.
I'd take the back off and examine the capacitors on the power supply board (just follow the wires from the mains input)
I found two capacitors that had bulged at the top (if you look at a normal cap, it has a flat top).
I replaced these for just over a quid and the TV's now working fine again.

Hlr806 samsung tv won't turn on says on the power
Most likely problem is bad capacitors in the power supply. You wiil see that they have swollen ends and may have ruptured/leaked. Try googling "bad caps" and you'll find numerous sites that will tell you, and show you, everything you need to know about this problem.

The audio amplifier from your tv has just died - it happens. You need to open the back cover, locate the amplifying IC, unscrew the radiator from it, unsolder the IC, buy an exact replacement and solder it back.

You probably won't like this but that is going to require a shop visit to fix. It is a failure in the hdmi section of the receiver. You won;t have warranty so you want to check around an get estimates. You may also want to shop around and see what a replacement tv is worth. Figure on the repair to cost about $450 if the shop replaces the board. If they actually repair it (or can) then it might be under $150ish.
