Notice that, the drivers for your camcorder and DCR-TRV19 are the same.

Pick the OS you have and click download. On the popup windows, click run to install the drivers.

After the drivers are installed, connect your camcorder, turn it on and follow the screen to install your camcorder.

Now you may Download. copy delete pictures and videos stored in your camcorder

I can't believe it. I tried hitting the camcorder on the battery side, directly on the battery with the palm of my hand and it worked for about 5 seconds. THEN I hit it against a wood table on the battery side and it is now working. I guess my first hit with the palm was not hard enough.

you need a computer with at least 1.5 ghz and 1 gig of ram anything less will cause recording to pc problems

dirty video head. go to a store and buy a video head cleaner. that should take care of your problem. yes, even if its new the heads can get dirty just from dust or moisture.

you can go to www.sony.com and download the cd for that camera under downloads and support.

you can use either a usb cable or you can use a firewire. read the instruction manuel. if you dont have the manuel you can go to www.sony.com and download one.

i need the driver of cam

Firstly ensure you are connecting it into the same USB port as last time, as it will look for drivers if in a different port. Also worth checking to see if another USB device is detected in the same USB port(eg usb pen,dongle, game controller etc),if so the port is ok. If still nothing remove camera and lead. If you still have the software and driver cd that you got with the camera, dig it out. If you have the installation cd, look in Start>Control Panel>Add & Remove Programmes and look for the Sony driver or software in the list. Click on the line and then on right hand side click remove. Insert the cd and re-install drivers or let it autorun, and only connect your camera when instructed to do so; or, after the installation has finished. Hope this works, as the connection between camera and pc is either a lead fault or camera input fault if none of above works.

Please use good quality video-8 head cleaning tape to clean video head. Tape is available Here.

I had the same problem. Spoke with Sony support. The drivers are there for Vista, but you have to connect the TRV280 from it's "DV" port to the Firewire port of you computer/laptop. I purchased a cable that has small firewire connectors on both ends. USB will not work with Vista. Once it is connected, a popup should ask you what you want to do, ie, capture video, etc. No other software required. Good Luck.

This is mechanical problem of Take Up Reel section and system control chip doesn't get reel pulse and you see reinsert tape message (error message)

Repair of this mechanism is delicate work and prior experience does matter here. If you have camera repair knowledge and experience, you should check take-up reel section in camera mechanism.

Have you tried a Sony Brand Tape on it?

sony recommends the following steps in this problem:

1. Turn off the camcorder.
   
2. Remove the battery or disconnect the AC power adapter for 60 seconds.
   
3. Insert the battery or reconnect the AC adapter.
   
4. Turn on the camcorder.

You need a 4-pin to 6-pin firewire cable and your computer must have a firewire port. You will have to buy one if it doesn't currently have it.

First you have to install the software.The software is supplied with the handicam in a cd form.You can connect handicam with pc using usb or dv(i link)port.Go to menu in handicam and select usb streaming on.Connect handicam with pc through usb and switch on to vtr mode.In drive C go to programe,sony corpn,DI,capture.Click capure and get capturing window to download your video.

Seems video head of your handy-cam is dirty or clogged. Use good quality video head cleaning tape to clean video head.
