Re-attach power source

Okay I fixed my camcorder. I did a ggogle search and came across this solution which worked...I strongly suggest you do this. I whacked it two times on each side with the palm of my hand. IT WORKS NOW! I guess sony is aware of this malfunction and this is probably how they fix it....The error code is gone the tape plays. And it didn't cost me a penny.... Good luck and let me know if it worked for anybody else......

I have a Sony DCR-TRV250 Digital Handycam

I got the tape to eject by removing the battery from the camcorder, putting it back on so that the tape would go back inside the camera. Then I had the tape eject again. Several times the tape would not be ejected but I repeated my steps until the camera released the tape.

Reinsert cassette

Turn the unit off and hit the back of the camera twice near the battery compartment with the palm of your hand. Sounds crazy but it worked with my camcorder Sony DCR-TRV480. Problem started when I used 8MM Head Cleaner. I think the roller got stuck inside camcorder. The trouble code came up C:31:22. Hope this helps.

Wont charge

Iam afraid your charger is faulty.(this is normally a loose DC cable that plugs into the camera). try to change and use another known working charger. if this fails use a known working battery.

Viewing SONY 8mm Tapes -- Please help

The older tapes were shot on a 8mm camcorder and the camcorder you have wil not play them becasue it doesn't have backwards compatability with the older format. The tapes you recorded are on a digital 8 camcorderr and it is different encoding than the one you recorded the other 60 tapes with. You will need to find either a dcr-trv 350 trv 530 trv 730 ect as these have the ability to play all the tapes.
Or find an older 8mm camcorder to play your tapes with.
Hope this helps

Sony Video 8 Handycam CCD-FX411tape problem

I have a handy can and had trouble with the cage closing with a tape installed. I found the most unlikely problem the rotation of the drun was slowing up and then siezed eventually.
I took it apart abd it was not a good idea to go any farther into the cage to extract the drum. The drum goes for over 250 dollars the price of half of the camera. Well I figure what the heck I experimented. I soaked the hole cage and drum in Denatured alcohol and unn siezed it. then I blew it out with the air compressor and really made the head spin. Then as I put the unit back together I found i was not careful with the audio ribon cable lost sound but the unit did work for silent movies. It was junk anyways over 250 dollar 3 head drum.

How can I erase tapes that I've used on my Sony

There use to be a degausing magnet made for just that. In turn messing up the information like scribbling on a writen document...

I have a sony Handycam

1. Open the tape cover fully until it clicks open.
2. Turn the camcorder on to "VCR Mode."
3. With the cover still open and the camera in "VCR mode," take out the battery.
4. Put the battery back in--out

The issue is with the tape drive, it this doesn't solve the problem its a mechanical problem on the drive, it could be a broken roller.

When I insert a tape, the screen flashes "reinsert cassette".

Hit your camera several times with a flat hand (bottom, tape side). Its strange but my problem was solved. On internet I found maybe 10 or 15 other people who did the same.  Really works!
