Out of focus/flashing code
that problem is on the lens assembly...one the two motor is not working properly...sometimes it is a poor connection to the socket of the main board...other is photo sensor of the lens(not the ccd image sensor)or the driver ic of the 2 motor...i suggest you have to go the service center for repairing you camera cause it need to disassemble the camera for doing this....
Re insert tape
Hi,
Don't be surprised with the solution others have found. Have a look at http://www.fixya.com/support/t125640-reinsert_cassette
Good luck.
Pixelly Connection via USB; Choppy Video/Audio
You can use a white copier paper to clean the head drum. But be careful not to apply the same and gently swipe the drum along while you hold the paper on the drum.
Besides if it does not improve change the drum completely. For orignal spares you can contact us and you need a good repair center.
Reinsert tape (ah)
its not condensation, perhaps on the tape, but not in the camcorder. i have the same damn problem and its really pissing me off. im a truck driver and when i see something i want the thing to work!! anyways, ive tried to take the tape out and wind the actual tape in the tape tighter by spinning the ummm, things haha. if you take out the tape thats not working and put in a new tape it works. also, theres no condensation in my big rig, its hotter then a barn in here and i have a nice leather case for my cam corder. so this problem is a pure design flaw and im pissed. peace out.
Pixelated video
Try to readjust the compression ratio.
If you need more info please advice.
Uploading Video Problems
Hopefully it's just a usb port voltage problem.
If you have other usb peripherals connected, try removing them and conecting your cam again.
Secondly try using a different usb port.
Multiple problems with camera operations.
I have been searching for a solution to the same exact problem for a long time. I just found this site recently and it has confirmed what I needed to know:
1. Buy a head cleaner to clean off the head (which records and such)
2. (If 1 Doesn't Work) Don't bother getting it fixed by a business (as opposed to a friend who would try fixing it for free) because they will charge $200 to $250 for it when it only costs around $270 from Sony now. So trash the camcorder and buy a new one.
That's all I know of.
Sony DCR-DVD200 camcorder not turning on after trying to fix it.
The best thing you can do now is to take it to a specialist and get them to do the repairs. Camcorders have a lot of electronics in them and can be easily damaged if your a not an experienced repairer. You might also have to consider that this camcorder might not be repairable.

TRV260 nail-polish head attack:
eek.
Acetone is a powerful solvent capable of dissolving plastic parts, plastic gears, housing and insulation.
Besides that, it leaves a residue of microscopic crystals which have probably contaminated the highly-polished metal head drum.
Not to mention gumming up the bushes and bearings.
With your next camera, rather use a head-cleaner DV-tape.
Sony dcr-hc62 won't record
Memory stick could be fubar. I have a bad sd card that I can record to and will work. Then a few days later the data is corrupted, and I have to reinstall it / same pattern. Try another stick to verify that it is the stick and not the camera electronics.
