I am honestly surprised you still have a 2004 printer running so I am quietly impressed with its quality.

Ok Dell tend to use LEXMARK so maybe if you cross refference to the correct lexmark model you could try drivers from there.

However there is a difference betwen Vista 32bit and 64 bit with drivers so make sure you get the correct ones

It is based on the Lexmark X5270.

With a service record like that for an AiO printer I would put a little more effort into it for sure

The drivers from Lexmark are available here

1. Check your wire for a possible short.
2. Reinstall your printers software.
3. Update your printers software.
4. Update your drivers

Check into the 4 of them first

Please go to run and enter "devmgmt.msc" you will get device manager remove all of the USB driver from the device manager and click on Scan for hardware changes. It will install all of the USB drivers. After that connect the printer and install the software properly.

you will have to uninstall the software provided by dell , use revo uninstaller for this purpose , you can download it free from google
once unisatlled the revo uninstaller will give you options to delete the registry values, delete all the registry values , restart the computer , and reinstall the software and try to print document .

sometimes there are compatibility issues with windows vista. Uninstall all other exisitng drivers of printers. Install the downloaded driver again and the software too. If it doesnt work then i think you must get it back with xp.

Go to START--- Control Panel--- Add or Remove Programs Select the drivers and click REMOVE Restart your computer If windows detects and reinstalls it automatically, you should be finished. If not, go to START--- Control Panel --- Printers and faxes --- Add Printer ? To start the Add Printer wizard.

If you have Windows 7 you need a newer printer which is compatable to this new system windows offers

press menu then start mono then arrow up button 4 times.


machine will be in mainténance mode. press the arrow up button until 7 is displayed. press menu. press arrow up til 6 then press menu. press arrow up til 3 Dispaly shows powerp_all press start mono. machine runs a power purge. after that press arrorw up til 0 press menu press arrow up til 9 machine will print test sheet. In case you dont have a good result do the power purge again. If you dont get a good result after 3 times purging, the printhead is clogged and cant be fixed anymore!


to leave the maintenance mode press arrow up til 9 then menu then arrow up til 9.

To change the language on the Dell 922's display

1. ,Turn on the printer, then press and hold the Power and Cancel buttons at the same time for about 10 seconds.

2. The language choices will then scroll across the LCD press the up or down arrow key till english appears, then click Menu.

You may have to clean the pick up rollers with alcohol or put a new roller in your printer.

If you have a printer with a tray, make sure it is set correctly for the paper you have installed.

It will try to grab the paper a number of times and will usually give you a paper jam error after a number of tries.

change your Feeder

are the contacts on the cartridge clean as that will effect print quality

well, in this situation you must first check out the services that are running.
you can open it as follows
start>"services"
(if using vista or 7)
you will find a list of running services.
check out the "print spooler" service and change the startup type to automatic. and restart the pc.

Clean the carriage rail. This is the round chrome piece that the carriage assy that holds the cartidges rides on. Use a paper towel that is slightly moist. Be sure to not force anything. Unplug the printer after you get the carts in the middle. Move them to one side and clean and then move them to the other and repeat.
