A good place for you to start might be by looking at Microsoft's new Windows Vista Compatibility Center, which you can find at
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/compatibility/Default.aspx.
I did a search on your Dell printer there, and it says that the printer should be completely compatible with the 32-bit version of Windows Vista. They provided me with a link to the Dell website, which gives you step-by-step instructions on how to install the most up-to-date drivers. The link is a pretty long one, but here it is:
