3 Ways to Disable the Dell Ink Management System
The Dell Ink Management System observes the ink levels in Dell printers, shows a message notifying the ink level and provides the option to purchase ink only directly to the Dell. Though it saves the time of business users, it's no more useful if you want to buy the ink from an office supply or third-party store. If it often shows a message to purchase ink when using the Dell printer, you can turn it off with the help of technicians on the Dell printer customer support phone number. To disable the Dell Ink Management System, you can continue with the following three ways: Dell Printer Tech Support Phone Number USA Use the Software Option Menu 1. Click the Start menu and then 'All Programs.' Choose the 'Dell Printers' option from the group of programs and select the Dell printer. 2. Click on the 'Maintain/Troubleshoot' section and choose the 'Ink Level' option. 3. Click the 'Advanced' tab, followed by the 'More Options' sub-menu. 4. Click to select the 'Never display the printer status,' and then the 'Never show low ink messages' radio buttons. 5. Click the 'OK' button, followed by the 'File' section. Choose the 'Exit' option from the drop-down menu. Disable the Printer Connection 1. Click the 'Start' button and pick the 'Devices and Printers' option. The Devices and Printers screen will appear. 2. Right-click on the Dell printer and choose the 'Properties' tab. Click the 'Ports' button and deselect the 'Enable Bi-Directional' support check box. 3. Click the 'Apply' button, followed by the 'OK' option. Uninstall Dell Ink Management System 1. Click the 'Start' menu and choose the 'Control Panel' option. 2. Click the 'Programs' section, and then the 'Programs and Features.' 3. Find the 'Dell Ink Management System' feature in the program list. 4. Click on it to choose the 'Uninstall' option for removal. After disabling the connection between your PC and the printer, you can still send the print jobs to your printer. My computer is reading the printer,and it stating that ink cartridge is full but the page is blank after printing
The print-head part of the cartridge is probably clogged / dried up. Remove the cartridge and wipe with a link-free rag dipped in rubbing alcohol. Wipe several times until ink appears to be flowing from the print-head and reinstall. Do the alignment / and cleaning routines if needed and try to print.

Hello Judy when it comes to printers not printing in color its usually a software issue . Now there are times that you buy the cartridges are bad but lets do some troubleshooting. Go to support.dell.com Support Dell US Select your product by service tag or click on printers and look for your model Select operating system and the software and driver will appear below in blue lettering click on it download and install software and fireware. Install and run. Make sure you are connected by USB to your computer. Print out a test page to make sure all is running ok. Reseat the cartridges and make sure the contacts are clean. let me know if this helps

I have a 922 printer and it won't turn on.
Did you try plugging the printer into a known live outlet? If the outlet tests good and has available power, check and make sure that no panels have come loose and could have tripped a safety switch during your move of the printer which could cause a no power up issue to prevent damage to printer. If still no luck, try a different power cord and se if that works. Hope this helps.

It won't print.. it goes
if the unit has been working properly for sometime and then suddenly stopped printing anything... you might try to perform a maintenance cleaning on your unit... this is caused by clogged nozzles which stops the printer to withdraw ink from its tank.... best way is to perform a headcleaning process for sometime.... if it still persist, reseat the ink cartridges... if it still does not work... try spraying the nozzle with wd40.... let it dry for 1 hr or 2.. if it still persist and the process is the same... im a afraid that we may need to have your printer serviced.... hope this helps you out...

Printer will not feed paper straight grabs one
When the paper does not feed straight, dirty or stickyrollers can cause it to jamb or crinkle, also failure to remove all traces ofpaper from a previous paper jamb will cause further paper jambs.
Check for tiny pieces of at the edges of the rollers, and remove these piecesof paper. The rollers may be dirty or sticky and causes the paper tonot feed straight.
Try cleaning the rollers with methylated spirits.

My color cartridge is printing
Hello,
In the printer properties you must have a check box which says something like this "print in grayscale" or something like this. If this box is checked your printer will always print black and white.

As to my knowledge; It sounds like You`ve got a NON-compatible cartridge. As the printer tells You :) You`ll have to be sure that any aftermarket cartridges You buy, are stated as compatible; or simply buy originals I`m sorry to say..
Both Lexmark, Dell & others uses so called rfid chips on the cartridges. This is how the printer by short wave radio signals communicates with the cartridge; and thus can it determine ink levels & whether it is a "compatible cartridge" and so on. If a non compatible one is inserted; it will; as You state; not work (it can`t determine that a cartridge is present). A "self refilled" ink cartridge still acts as a empty one; since the rfid chip sends the same id no to the printer; and it`s already been noted as "empty" from before. In that case, swapping rfid chips from a "new" cartridge has been known to work. The rfid chip is either embedded in the "circuit band" in front of the cartridge, or as a single small "pvc chip" underneath the sticker on top.

After a powercut the printer power switch blinks
According to the manual, that is the signal for a paper jam. If the power went out while a print job was in progress, you may need to clear the paper path (Page 56)

then press and hold the power button till printer turns off, then try to power it on again.
There is also a decent chance that if all troubleshooting steps have no effect that the circuits were damaged by the power surge, in which case you would be replacing the printer as any printer repair on this type of printer costs more than replacing it.

Printer will not load paper
I had this problem once on a different make of printer and I was told that it may be something that has fallen into the printer and you can't see it. I just turned it upside down and gave it a good shake and small piece of plastic fell out. This solved it for me so it is worth giving it a go.

My Dell 922 printer will

The rubber treads in the rollers wears down, making them smooth, so they won't pick up the paper. Sometimes, they are aged, which also gives them a smoother rounded texture, causing jams. The quick fix is to liven up that roller with a mixture of alcohol and soap. Damp a rag with the solution and wipe the rollers clean with it. That's make them more pliable and the paper jams will cease.

Check the pins in the printer if they are dirty, if they are then use a cotton swab to clean them with a little alcohol REMEMBER TO TURN OFF THE PRINTER FIRST.

The on/off button is flashing

Hi

Unplug all the cables from/to the printer from the power socket and mains and let it sit without power for more then ten minutes. Re-plug all the cables and switch it on and print a test page to check that it is printing normally. If the issue returns then you'll need to uninstall and re-install the printer drivers. That is a rather old printer, I'm not sure you are going to be able to purchase it retail anymore. If you do find someone that has a brand new one, there will most likely be no warranty that comes with it from Dell.
