Picture has gone bad on my 70 in Misubishi

My recommendation is have a svc co. look at it. That model was noted for multiple electrolytic caps being bad and also solder joints. As long as the picture was good prior to your problem then I would say it's worth repairing. I worked on the same model for 3hrs to take care of all the problems and preventive maintenance.

Locked ext inputs

I'll give you the master reset, with set on, and from the remote hit Menu-1-2-7-0 this will bring up the Intilize screen and the word Initlize should be highlighted, if it is hit enter on the remote, this is the factory default settings so now if the set ask for a parental code it will be 0000

Good Day, Maktideva;

No video could be caused by many things but the most common problem with this TV is: CHECK FOR OPEN L2C50 PART #325C146030 ON THE SIGNAL PCB.

Hope this was helpful and not too late.

Good Luck, big IRISH.

Can't not unlock parental code

if you push QV 9 or SQV 9 it will bypass the code. I can't remember if you push in succession or simult. You can sometimes use it to erase the old parental code

Pip

Either the micro is failing or the eeprom has become corrupted.. You can try unplugging the set for 15 minutes - not less - and allow the eeprom itself and see if that cures the problem. If not the micro has failed and it's best to take it in because usually something else probably caused the failure (cap, diode open resistor, etc.) and the tech will have to trace test to find out what..
Good Luck!

Picture is really light in color screen is white

It sounds like you have bad solder joints in the tv. If you resolder the boards in the tv, it sounds like it will be fine. When you are slapping the tv, it is temproarly making contact again and fixing the picture..

Need help adjusting the rear

Your red has gone crazy on you because your convergence IC's have gone bad.   These IC's operate at a very high temp, and usually only last 4-5 years.
If you remove the back of the set, you will want to look for the BIGGEST heatsink in there, on that heatsink, you will see 2 lage IC's , probably STK392-110, or STK392-120's or something close...regardless - you can go on ebay to order the new ones, but MAKE SURE they are Genuine SANYO IC's and not counterfiet cheapies. the cheap ones may only last 2 months..
You will also need some "Heat transfer paste" - you can pick this up at radio shack.   Once you remove the old IC's, test all the large resistors near them.. pull one side of the resistor out of the board so you can check it out of circuit. they will usually have the value in Ohms, printed directly on the resistor, but you may have to use the resistor color code to find out what value they are....However, usually if there is any damage, the resistor will look like it has been HOT or fried. replace the IC's and any bad resistors, and you should be good to go.   If after replacing the IC's and any defective resistors, the convergence is still bad, make sure to use a multimeter to check ALL fuses on the boards, --- sometimes when the IC's go, they will take out a fuse to the convergence power supply. If you find any bad fuses, replace them accordingly!   If this STILL doesnt make it look right, you will need to find out how to get into service mode and do a coarse convergence adjustment. This information can be found in the Service manual for your set. If you dont have one you can download it at servicemanuals.net   Hope that helps!

This is a case of bad capacitors in the PIP (picture in picture) module. If you have any electronics repair experience, you should be able to do the repair yourself. Here is some more detailed instructions:
