Need to reset password
to reset the password without resetting the router to its default settings. you need to know the ip address of the router. like for example 192.168.1.1 and try to look for your password and replace it. if its not working try to look for the reset button on the back of the router. press and hold it for about 15 sec this would reset everything on the router
I have a Belkin Wireless
Good day, test your connection directly to your pc,and monitor, and if still looses connection ,call your provider.thanks
I would to make it secure
you will have to have the installation disk that comes with it, after you put that in an autorun feature will appear were you can launch the program. This will allow you to reboot your router and more importantly add encryption. I recommend not using WEP as it has security flaws, instead use WPA or WPA2
Can't remember my password

Lost password--how can I reset it
You will need a paper clip to press into the hole, this will be marked in most cases with 'Reset', if not it will be placed near the ventilation holes at the bottom/back. Whilst still on, press the paper clip into the hole for 10 seconds. Then give the router a minute to restart.
Bear in mind that when you reset it, you wipe all the information on the router and you have to start again from scratch, make sure you have your broadband username/password available to hand before you do this otherwise you won't be able to reconnect to the Internet!
I have followed directions to set a password on
There are a couple of passwords involved, are you sure you got the right one?
First is the user password for the management interface of the router.
Second is the wireless access key, which is set up in Security option under Wireless section. I suggest WPA PSK or WPA2 PSK mode if available, TKIP option, and entering a pretty complex key (password). And Apply.
Please come back and leave a rating/testimonial if helped or post a comment for further assistance.

Most routers have a reset button. Use a paper clip to depress the button for at least 10 seconds. This will reset the router to its default settings where you can supply a new password. You will, of course, have to at least check all the other settings to ensure they do what you want.
I have internet connection on
Did you configure the wireless router, to set an SSID ("network name") and encryption-level ('WPA') and password?
Are the correct device-drivers loaded for the wireless adapter inside the laptop?
Does the laptop have a switch/slider to disable/enable the wireless adapter?
Does the laptop connect to "free WifI' at Starbucks or MacDonalds?
Can a friend's laptop make a wireless connection to your Belkin's wireless network?

Hello,
I do not know much about troubleshooting
Thank you for using fixya.
Being that your other computers in the network are working properly, you should switch the ip settings on your comnputer to automatically detect. That way your computer does all the routing and ip setting,
After you have set that back. Remove the power of your router, remove the power of your modem, and restart your computer.
Once your computer is back up, turn on modem, then the router.
It sounds very simple, but in most cases, it solves the problem.
Hope this information is helpful
