Some machines are not designed to sew the straight stitch with the needle in the center position. Some are left or right position to do that and it is simply the way they were designed. Linda at Relics

Hi, I'm trying to sew

My guess is that you have lost all of your upper tension and you may have your needle in backward.
Unthread the machine.
Raise the presser foot. Turn the handwheel until the take-up lever is at it's highest position. Set the upper tension dial/knob to 5. Remove the needle and replace it making sure that the flat side of the needle shank is to the back. Thread the machine.
With the presser foot up, the upper thread should pull through easily and then grab when the presser foot is lowered.
Test sew.
The upper tension pulls the stitches up and the lower tension pulls the stitches down. When they pull properly, the stitch is even.

If you have any rough spots on the outer edges of the bobbin case, usually caused by the needle going through it, you will continue to turn it until the rough spots are smoothed off. I scrape the rough areas with a knife so the edges are smooth and uniform. You may want to take it to a repair center to have this done. Don't be surprised if they recommend replacing the bobbin case. That is the quickest and cleanest fix.

As I sew there is

Common problem. The thread is actually not from your bobbin, it if from your main thread. The thread is either not properly going through the tensioner, or the tension needs to be tightened. This "birdnesting" is an aggravating, yet usually rather simple, fix. Did that take care of it?

I start to sew then after a few stiches the needle

Hi Sharon,

It sounds like you may have chips, burrs or scratches on your bobbin case and possibly the hook also.
Check to see if the position finger is bent or disfigured.

Here is a website with lots of information run by sew'nvac.
Their Sew Vac Doctor answers any questions and helps people repair their machines. Also, takes machines in at a reasonable rate and repairs them himself. He also has a help line. I recommend this site for anybody who sews: http://sewvacdoctor.com/

Good luck,

I hope this helps. If it does, I'd appreciate a 4 thumbs up. Thanks,

Out of nowhere, after working

Change needle
Clean under needle plate where feed dogs are for lint
Clean bobbin area for lint or loose threads
Rethread machine top thread make sure to get every thread guide
& bobbin is threaded correctly & inserted in the bobbin case or shuttle correctly
Check tension 3 or 4 is usually good

after you try all this & it keeps jamming then it may need to be serviced

I can't find the plug

If you are in the USA (110V) then try this website

If your country is 240V then you may need to purchase the power lead from a UK website or your local Husqvarna Viking agency.
