Hello.I live in an older
you have debris in the flush valves. if they are older toilets, I would replace the flush valves. you can get the eljer fill valves from your local plumbing wholesaler.
The water kept running after finished flushing and
Hi,
Either you did not get the right flapper or you have a crack that is letting the water through even though the flapper is sealed...
Cracks can be very hard to identify, but if the flapper is sealing good then that's your problem...

Hi Guy they have a hole in the flapper with air pocket that casues them a problem, you can buy aa flapper wth a chain on it that has a float on the back of the flapper valve so you can adjust it to work right. my experince has been to put the float right up aagainst the back side of the flapper. they cost $3.99 at any hardware store.
I need instructions to install high performance flush parts.
The ball **** is still used with the handle the fill vaalve is a circuler float that goes threw the bottom of the tank you twist the shat to rase the folat high enought to get the water to fill to desired flush level then install washer and water hose on the bottom, then turn water on and watch that the tank does not overfill if it starts to turn the water off flush the tolite and turn the valve counter clock wise to lower it, there is a rod conneted to the float that can be screwed up or down to adust it.
Tank is not filling to water line
Turn clcokwise to rasie water level, don't mess with the weights unless adjusting the screw to get water to proper height does not do the trick.
Missing bolt for toilet seat
A standard toilet seat bolt should be fine. There are some with a rubber boot that expands as tightened but you should be able to reach the nut by reaching into the tank and under the lip. The new nut & bolt should be plastic so they won't corrode.
Keeps clogging
Have you check the toilet for proper water level in tank. Level will be near mark on overflow tube or within 5/8" from top or it adjust float if not to get it there.
Next is the fill line 1/4" poly line connected to fill valve to overflow tube to allow proper amount of water in bowl.
Port's under the rim are clear on not clogged you can use a nail or paper clip to push through thes to clean out. You can't see them they are under the rim of the bowl.
If something fell in bowl and got flushed it could be hanging up in the trap in the bowl. If you have some rubber gloves check out drain in bowl before trying to use something to push it further in the drain.
If nothing found maybe try a 6 ft auger you can get these fairly cheap and they are handy to have around.
How do you remove or replace the flapper.
Your leak is most likely caused by either a worn flapper or a worn valve seal. Best bet is to replace both as the coat for a new valve assembly and flapper is about $12 at Home Depot. Look for the Fluidmaster display in the plumbing department. Easy to follow instructions are included. Since you have a one-piece toilet you'll need to be sure that it will fit so measure the depth of the tank.
I would like to replace the complete ballcock..or
you can go to wal-mart and pick up a complete replacement kit with all the parts inside for about 10 bucks and it only took me about 20 minutes to change out. Just make sure to have some towels handy as when you take out the tube that connects to the water inlet some (not a bunch) water will spill on the floor.
Toilet runs around 1 per hour.
I had the same problem with my new flapper. Instead of vasoline, use "plumbers' grease". You can buy it in a small tube at Lowes, HomeDepot, etc for about $4.00. I use the silcone based stuff and it never washes off. You will find other uses for this stuff. It is great!
Water keeps leaking activating the flaot to
THAT IS USUALLY A SIGN THAT THE WATER HEIGHT IS NOT ADJUSTED PROPERTLY,IT SHOULD NOT BE RUNNING DOWN THE OVERFLOW TUBE,WHICH IS USUALLY IN THE CENTER OF THE TANK,AND ABOUT 1 INCH IN DIAMETER,OR IT COULD SIMPLY BE THE FLAPPER IS OLD AND WATERLOGGED,IF YOU TOUCH THE FLAPPER(BLACK PIECE IN THE BOTTOM) AND IT GET ALL OVER YOUR HANDS ,IT IS TIME TO REPLACE IT.
Replace flapper
Before doing anything, open the tank lid to determine exactly which type of flapper you have. As a general rule, FLUIDMASTER makes quality replacement parts for this project. The part #'s are 500, 501, 502, or 504 (you have several choices). Pick the one you like as they'll all do the job. Remove the lid, shut off the incoming water valve (usually near the floor) and then flush the toilet. Determine whether or not the water has stopped entering the tank. If so, remove the flapper by gently tugging on and pulling the attachment loops to remove it from the valve seat attachment point. Wipe the valve seat off with a rag to make sure its clean and not worn, slip on the new flapper, re-attach the chain/strap as required, turn on the incoming water valve, check to make sure the float shuts off properly, flush the toilet and see if everything functions correctly. It should!
