My Kitchenaid microwave goes in
My Whirlpool elite does the same thing when i have the exhaust running while cooking hot stuff. The phrase No Mains with a cartoon character jumping up and down on the lcd display. Tech support claims its low voltage. But my voltage is fine. Moving the plug to a different circuit doesn't help. Unplugging it for an hour seems to be a temporary fix because the problem happens again.

There
should be a "mini-manual" (tech sheet) hidden inside the unit
behind the
control panel or hidden on the left side behind the grille, which is
very helpful when troubleshooting, testing, and locating
components.
At
our Web site, we have a video

over the range control panel assembly in under 5 minutes.
If you don't find your mini-manual,
or if you want to look at it before removing the controller, you can
download it here (just enter your model
number).

What does f2 mean?
F2 on a Kitchenaid / Whirlpool / Maytag microwave means you have a shorted membrane keypad. You can find
helpful exploded view diagrams and order parts by entering your full
model number here.
On some models, the keypad is available separately.
If you (or someone you
know) might want to replace it yourself, I have uploaded a handy guide with pictures showing you what's typically
involved.
On other models, the keypad is not
available as a separate part, so you would have to order the control
panel frame assembly which comes with a new keypad.
It all depends on the model number.

I have a kichenaid microwave#khms155lss-4 my son
It's most likely a blown magnetron thermostat, but you should also check the fuse and the oven cavity thermostat.
There should be a "mini-manual" hidden inside the unit behind the control
panel or hidden on the left side behind the grille, which is very
helpful when troubleshooting, & testing.Y
ou can find helpful
exploded view diagrams and order parts by entering your full model
number here.
Accessing the thermostats for testing and possible replacement will require you to remove the oven from the wall.
If
so, the installation instructions are very handy, and it's best to have
two people since the microwave can be heavy and awkward.

instructions here.

No heat
BE CAREFULL!!
The magnetron has either failed or is
not being supplied with the extremely high voltage required to run
it.
Make sure the !!!!capacitor is discharged!!!!!
before attempting any sort of repair.
Check the diode with either
an AVO model 8 on high resistance range for short circuit, the feed
fuse on the primary of the high voltage transformer and then finally,
the magnetron is best checked by substitution.
Hope that helps.

How do i replace door handle
The door handle can easily be replaced on MOST microwave ovens by removing the inner door panel that goes around the perimeter of the glass. The following link explains how to access and replace the door handle:
http://www.fixya.com/support/r3696942-microwave_oven_door_handle_replacement
The average cost for a replacement handle usually runs about $20 - $40. Replacements may be purchased at the websites listed in the link I provided.
The part number for the model number you provided varies depending on color, so make sure you order the correct one for your oven. You can view an exploded view of your microwave door here:
http://pcappliancerepair.com/model-display.php
The door handle is a simple repair that can be done with the door in place, or with the door removed. You do not have to uninstall the oven if this is an over the range model.
If you have any questions, please post back and let me know. I hope this helps you

How do I unlock the key pad?
Here you go.
The Child Lock shuts down the control panel pads to prevent
unintended use of the microwave oven.
When the control is locked, only the Vent Fan and Light pads will
function.
To Lock/Unlock Control: The microwave oven and Timer must
be off. Touch and hold START for 5 seconds until 2 tones sound
and a lock icon appears on the display. Repeat to unlock and
remove the lock icon from display.

The microwave won't stop beeping
Your membrane keypad has failed. I'm guessing it's giving an error code of F2 also?
On
the KHMS155LSS# models, the membrane keypad is available as part of the control panel frame assembly which comes
with a new keypad.
Replacing this is actually a pretty easy do it yourself job.
At
our Web site, we have a video available showing how to remove a typical
over the range control panel assembly in under 5 minutes.
Next, disconnect the keypad strip as
shown in the photo below, then remove the screws that hold your circuit
board in the old frame.
Then
carefully (since the display is made of glass) move your
circuit board to the new frame, and reassembly is the reverse of
disassembly.
Y
ou can get the control panel assembly here.
You can also find helpful exploded view diagrams at that link. Just enter your model number (as KHMS155LSS# for example where # is the last digit) without the dash.

happy to help you with free advice and we'd appreciate your thoughtful

Does not work.
hello,
This error code
on a Kitchen Aid range indicates a keypad short on the Electronic Range
Control (ERC) board. This is the clock/timer on the operator console.
The recommended fix is to replace the ERC. You can generally find
replacement parts at these websites:
searspartsdirect.com
pcappliancerepair.com
appliancepartspros.com
repairclinic.com
All these sites offer great service with competitive pricing, so shop and compare.
Replacing an ERC is not a difficult repair and can be accomplished by
the average do-it-your self offer. If you decide to order the part and wish
to repair this on your own, follow these steps:
1. UNPLUG the range. Dangerous voltage is still present inside even with the range turned off.
2. Pull the range away from the wall and turn the unit around so you can access the rear panel.
3. Remove the screws on the back of the operator console.
4. Carefully disconnect the connector plugs to the ERC. Take note of
how they are connected, so that you can reinstall them correctly.
NOTE: The connectors are usually color coded with the colors printed on
the circuit board. However, if the colors are not printed on the board,
write them down. (A digital camera also comes in real handy for this).
5. With the connectors removed, remove the mounting screws to the ERC and the assembly will come out.
NOTE: Most replacement ERC boards do not come with the overlay. This is
the plastic pre-printed number display. The overlay can easily be
peeled off and re-used. Just make sure you properly orient the overlay
so that you don't inadvertently place it on the new board upside down.
If your existing overlay is damaged, you will need to order separately.
6. Install new ERC using the steps provided in reverse order. Minimize
handling the new circuit board with your bare hands to avoid damaging
the board.
I hope this information helps you.
thank you for using fixya.
