Starts on own F2 appears

Hi,

Unplug the oven for few minutes, say 30 minutes and then turn it on.If the problem persists, you need to replace keypad. This is a quite easy repair. You would take the grill off along the top over the door. Once off you should see the screws holding the control panel in place. Remove these screws and remove the control panel. You will now have access to replace the part. Please be aware that the unit stores lethal voltage even when unplugged.

F2 means the touch pad has failed, the manufacturer recommends you replace the touch pad and if this fails to clear the problem replace the control board. The manufacturer recommends this but the problem normally relates to the touch pad. The control board sits just behind the touch pad so is accessible by removing the control panel.

Let me know,if needed further assistance.

Hope i helped you.

Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

I NEED DIRECTIONS TO REPLACE THE DOOR HANDLE ON MY

The door handle can easily be replaced on MOST microwave ovens by removing the inner door panel that goes around the perimeter of the glass. The following link explains how to access and replace the door handle:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r3696942-microwave_oven_door_handle_replacement

The average cost for a replacement handle (if required) usually runs about $20 - $40. Replacements may be purchased at the websites listed in the link I provided. Several of these sites also have helpful exploded view parts illustrations to assist you with parts identification and how disasemble/reassemble your appliance. If you haven't purchased a new handle yet, the part number is 8184264.

The door handle is a simple repair that can be done with the door in place, or with the door removed. You do not have to uninstall the oven if this is an over the range model.

NOTE: If you wish to remove the door, all you need to do on most models is open the door all the way and lift straight up at the hinges. You may have to remove the grille cover located above the door on some models to accommodate being able to lift the door.

If you have any questions, please post back and let me know. I hope this helps you.

Oven stsarts by itself and after about a minute

"F2" means you have a shorting membrane keypad. If and when an oven is coming on or doing anything by itself, this is very dangerous and can result in a fire.

So until it is repaired, please leave it unplugged or leave the door open when it's not in use, and of course one should never leave a microwave unattended while cooking.

On KHMS155LS-series models, the membrane keypad is not available as a separate part, so you would have to order the "control panel frame assembly" which comes with a new keypad.

In this case, you simply move your circuit board into the new frame. That is a simple do-it-yourself job.

You can find helpful exploded view diagrams and order parts by entering your full model number from the tag on the oven here.

At our Web site, we have a video available showing how to remove a typical over the range control panel assembly in under 5 minutes.

Then you unplug the keypad (as per the photo below) and move the circuit board into your frame.

Kitchenaid vented microwave KHHS179LSS-5 surface

Hi,

Press the "Off/Clear' button to cancel anything on the display, and reset the microwave. This is a soft reset and will simply get you out of any program you have started. Press it when the cooking complete reminder appears on the display.
Perform a hard reset. Pull the plug out of the wall power supply, and wait a moment. Plug the microwave back into the wall power supply to reset any anomalies with the microwave's memory. You will need to reset the time of day if you perform a hard reset.
Reset the time of day. Press the "Clock" button, and turn the dial to set the hours. Press the dial to enter. Follow the same procedure for the minutes and a.m. or p.m. Press the "Start" button to start the clock. This should help fix the problem.

Rattling, crackling type noise just started and is

A couple of months ago my microwave started making crackling, rattling and grinding sounds everytime i used it and i thought it was going to break down. It turned out one of my children must have spillled or overflowed something with a clear liquid because the micro did not look dirty but there was a crunchy substance under the wheels of the turntable. Once i cleaned this up totally the noises all went away.

Microwave stopped working with no warning. They

Just had my Kitchen Aid Microwave KHMS155LSS burn up and bellow smoke.

Thankfully, I was close by, stopped the microwave, vented the smoke, turned off the circuit breaker and unplugged it. Still the smell of burned motor, burned plastic has me concerned. Did it get hot enough to cause problems behind the drywall? So far, I am keeping a "fire watch" to make sure nothing is smoldering.

The white rectangle on the top of the inside of

The waves won't be spread like they should, with the area right below the hole getting way more energy than the rest of the food. The new part will be around $22. I had to break the old part in getting it off. The new part will show you how it is attached and how to install it. The most substantial part goes in the back (the part that acts like a hinge), and the snap-in area goes in the front. It pops right in and the energy once again flows all over the microwave. I got the idea that the cover acted as a diffuser. Also, I was told the reason this happened is because whatever was being heated didn't have enough moisture in it, therefore it was as if the microwave were being run with nothing in it, and the wave were directed back to the cover instead of being absorbed. I was instructed to next time put a cup of water in with whatever I was heating at the time of the problem.

Door got slammed and now

There are two or three switches operated by the door latches in a microwave oven. When the door is slammed, they can be damaged or knocked out of adjustment. If the control board thinks the door is open, it won't allow the oven to operate. It's best to let a professional check the oven and adjust or replace the affected parts. Microwaves are hazardous devices, with lethal voltages exposed when the cover is off. Also, repairs involving door repairs can cause microwave leakage if they aren't done properly. But once the switches are operating properly your oven should be fine.
