Any
oil that is JASO MA certified motorcycle oil. 10w-40 for cold climate.
20w-50 for warm climate/touring. Do not use any oil that says Energy Conserving on the label . It will shorten the life of your wet clutch and transmission gears. Synthetic oils will help your bike run cooler and shift easier.
Bike only runs on full choke. give any throttle it
If you have vacuum carburetors , you need to have an air box that creates vacuum for them to work. By eliminating the air box and putting on pod filters you have made mixture super lean and screwed up the rate performance curve of the carbs. You may be able to get it to run by re jetting the carbs bigger. The vacuum tops still may not as well as they can. Remember your little high performance 250 is designed to 100MPH stock. You may want to think about going back to the stock air box, just about anything you do will only lesson the performance on this model.
When sitting at a light
The light gets brighter because the higher crank speed is generating more electricity. Your battery is getting weak. Check to see that water covers the top of the plates in each battery cell. If It was my bike I would first replace the side stand switch and the clutch lever switch. I would do one at a time they work together to complete the starter system they tell the bike thats it's ok to start. ck the wires going to the switches and connectors for a rubbed spot or burnt spot on the wire.
A lot of times if
its electrical check security of the entire spark plug circuitry starting by taking the plug wires off and remove the plugs to check to see that ceramics aren't cracked , if plugs are good now inspect the inside of the plug wires for corrosion, if good now check the other end at the coils for integrity. since the bike does run good up to 9000, then i would say that your plugs are probably good, and the spark plug wires are probably good also so i would look into the spark unit assembly next for loose connections ..a lot of things could be causing this; a bad tilt switch, a bad rev limiter, a shorted wire to the pulse generator system..this is not a simple fix..good luck.
I have a ninja kawsaki 250 08 model and it has
Your looking at around £400 to £600 or bit cheaper if you call bike breakers. You may pick up the parts at a snip of the price. The throttle however may be a damaged cable and if you replace the throttle cable it shouldn't cost no more than £50.
FI light stays on.
I changed one of the fuses
FL indicates a Fuel Injection problem. This could be anything from a dirty air filter to a plugged injector or a fuel mapping problem. Take the bike to a dealer and have them read the error codes to see what is going on.

You can try drilling the lock out. You will need to know where to drill though because drilling in the wrong spot can make it harder to open. Best thing would be to just take it to a locksmith
