2004 kawasaki Ninja 250R Questions & Answers
My kawasaki ninja ex250r is leaking oil really bad and pulling it into the intake what is wrong
You will have to be more specific on what you have done to isolate the problem. How do you have engine oil leaking and being drawn into the intake? Where is the leak, because you can obviously see it, so how is it migrating to the inlet? Have you done any work on it recently whereby you could have refitted something incorrectly. The most likely thing is a breather hose that is causing the engine to vent the oil from somewhere. If the airbox and all the inlet parts are as they should be then where is the oil entering the inlet?
Go through the various hoses large and small and make sure they are properly connected.
One obvious thought is; Is the engine oil level correct as per the handbook? Have you added a bit extra"for luck" ? There isn't a great deal of oil in it in the first place so it wouldn't take much to overfill.
Overfilling can cause seals/gaskets to blow etc. In worst cases it can break the piston rings.
Clean the engine with detergent, start up, don't rev it above fast idle and see where and how quickly the oil appears.
If its entering the airbox and being sucked into the engine then you need specialist help or a good DIY biker.
You don't actually say if its running OK??
Careful diagnosis and logical thinking will get to the bottom of this.
Don't spend a penny on parts yet, because you're going to look silly if its only something you refitted wrongly.
2003 Kawasaki Ninja 250R. No spark!
Question edited for clarity and maker.
Question moved from 'Power Motorcycles' to model category.
It could be. A diode is an electrical component that only allows power to travel in one direction. When they fail, there is no power in any direction. You can test it with a multimeter. It will pass Ohms one way, but not the other if it is working.
Start up from winter
Hey Anon, remove the battery, have it's CCA's - ( Cold Cranking Amps ) checked... this is the only true measure of a batteries health. O'Reilly's, Auto Zone, Advance Auto can check it..they will tell you if its good or not. Install new (recommended) spark plugs.. Next, its time to make sure the injectors are getting fuel,,..make sure the petcock is letting fuel through.. DO NOT put "additives" in it...make sure the injectors are passing fuel..(fuel pressure) It might be time for a trip to a qualified professional to double check the injectors..
An internal combustion engine requires 3 things to run:
1. A properly timed spark
2. Adequate compression >120PSI
3. A proper fuel/air ratio
one - or more - is not working.. eliminate one by one..
