The drain plug is located on the back of oil pan in the center. if you have a rock guard you have to remove this first. the pcv valve(positive crankcase vent is located on either the left valve cover in front or on theif it's a v6 or 8 or it is located on the valve cover in the back in a straight six it will have a hose that goes to your air filter breather box or the breather hose. please rate this...........thanks

Oil smell inside jeep liberty

key factor here, is source

my guess, is the car was never serviced?

and the PCV valve clogged long ago and now you have illegal

engine bypass gases venting at hoses cracked or lots of places

and the PCV gases do stink, that will wift in the the cab.

that is my wild guess. but do get a mech to find it.

we can smell anything here, nor try to find source.

and do replace the PCV if clogged. or at 60,000 miles.

high oil usage , do tell, quarts per 3000 miles.

and high speed will suck more oil as will running thin oil.

I have a 2004 jeep liberty, what is EATX?

Try unhooking your battery. It should reset the light. If that doesn't work it could be the relay again. I have had that happen to me with my 2001 Expedition. Was told it was caused by me giving someone a jump and it caused the service engine soon come on.

I have a 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee. I was told by an auto parts store that my Jeep with a 4.7 V8 has no PCV Valve. is this true? I've read that it's on the side of the fill tube ...nope nothing there....

Hello,

I searched pep boys, advancedauto and autozone and found no PCV valve listed for your 4.7.

I can say however that the last model Jeep (WJ) with the 4.7 had a PCV valve (cuz I owned one), and yes it was on the side of the engine.

You may also like to know that 4.0 (ZJ) Jeeps dont have PCV valves as well (cuz I owned 2) however the V8 (ZJ) V8s do have one (cuz I owned the rare 5.9).

Hope this helps.

How much and what kind do I need to change the differential fluid also what kind of antifreeze do I need for drain and refill

If you are picking the product up at a major auto parts store, they will be able to tell you. you will need to know, Make, model, engine size, Air Contd, 2wheel or 4 wheel drive. Once they have this they can tell you what the recommended products are and the capacity of each.

Hope this is of some help.
