My dash lights, turn signals and gauges stopped working. everything fine one minute, parked car, went in store, came out, started car--none of previously mentioned items worked! have in repair garage--they cannot diagnose problem! help :(

no car told at all make,model ,year
left door open and engine running for 30minutes?
or engine off key back on and left for 30min.
30 minutes is a long time,
how you left that car is not told and matters huge
did you leave anything on and walk away./

head lamps dead/ those work key on and key off
a huge clue is there.
engine runs and lights means head lights, missing key word HEAD
well if engine runs the error lamp , charge/battery/gen must not glow running,or the alternator died (or its fuses)

i bet all parking lamps work outside car up to 10 lamps
called parking+tail+running lamps front/ rear and sides.
stop lamps dead.
reverse lamps dead.
dash blower dead.

for nothing on the dash to work ,it indicates that a ground wire is missing, broken or the ground point is rusted
Could be the BCM unit so run the fault codes as well

the common system problem look like the headlights switch
and cluster back bulbs .... remove front panel cluster and remove headlight switch look for burn wire or connector terminal. test light
fuses all

check your alternator is giving out about 14 volts if no .check the brushes held on with two bolt behind your alternator as may be worn .or change the alternator.

there is a regulator for the display brightness, you may have it turn'd down or it has stopped working;. it controls the brightness at which the dash lights are. usually has a speedo sign on it. goes up and down. it works with the main light and is conecter to them on the same lighting board if it has gone then a new light swtch control switch will be needed.

How are you testing in the vehicle ? Just volt meter on battery post's while vehicle running ? Fuse an fusible link good ? Have turn on signal from the PCM - engine computer ? Any DTC'S stored in the PCM ?

I would look at either the park/neutral safety switch or the brake light switch. If either are bad, all the lights will come on but the ECM won't release the start signal to the starter solenoid.

replace eletric part of ignition shorting out differnt circits at diiffernt times
