Re: My windscreen wipers stopped working in heavy rain. I...
I have a Range Rover 2006 and suddenly under heavy rain the wipers atrat going very fast and quit working, I change the speed and work again but after a minute the wipers quit. And I can not find the problem . Somebody can help me?
I have a 2004/2005 Range Rover Vogue and my front wipers have failed in heavy rain on the motorway four times over the last few months. Fortunately on each occasion I have been able to make it to the hard shoulder safely. Usually, turning engine on and off a few times gets them working again, however, on the third failure it took twenty minutes. The local dealership has replaced the wiper motor, relay, control unit and done a point to point wiring and resistance check. After the last failure they kept thevehicle for a week but were unable to replicate the fault. I have written to Range Rover who just say that this is not a common fault. However, the more you look on the internet the more reports of this failure you find.
I have the same type of problem with a 1998 Range Rover. Initally it started to blow fuses then we put a resetting fuse in. This worked for a while but has gradually got worse. Now we only have the wipers working on full. The service centre have now said that we need to replace a $3000 control unit under the seat to make the wipers work. This is rediculous.
