No easy way carefully try to remove the panel from the top enough to reach inside and pull the latch rod with your hands by lifting a little bit on the top of the panel it should pull away from the door

Why does the rear door not open?

If neither handle works, then it is the latch. There is a rod that is held to the latch with a plastic clip. It could've broke or just opened up, releasing the rod. You have to remove the rear seat, it pops up. Then remove the door panel. Be careful, it can break. Remove the plastic sound barrier. shine a light towards the latch, look for the yellow clip. Pull/push up on it and the door will open. Repair what is needed.

Rear pontiac grand am door stuck

I have a 2002 pontiac grand am with both power windows and door locks. Everything else works except the lock assembly on the rear driver side rear door latch. I have removed the inside panel , aboth rods are connected. all power is disconnected to that door. I moved both of the rods correctly and the door will slightly open but that is all. How can I get it to release so I can repair or replace the latch and lock if nescessary ? I had the same problem only reversed with the frond door it would not close but after some trying I fixed that problem.

How to remove inside door panel passanger side

Remove the screw by the handle that opens the door and the screw by the defrost vent. Then remove the screw that would touch the dash if the door was closed. Then remove the screw in the handle that you would use to close the door from the inside. Now remove the 2 screw at the bottom of the panel, these are kind of hard to find, runs you finger around in the carpet. Pull the plastic cover off around the opening handle, and unplug the window and lock switches. Now carefully pry off the panel. After you get the clips to release, unhook the rod from the back of the opening handle.
