This car had been sitting for some time before I bought it. I drove it around for about an hr. During this time I noticed a few prob. When the heat was on high it was making some strange noises. All of the sudden the heater stopped working + the smell was so bad i couldn't breathe. The man I bought it from told me that because it had been sitting so long i would probably smell oil burn off the manifold but i don't think this had anything to do with that. After a few minutes the smell went away but the heater still doesn't work.

Check the carpet for moisture around the passenger side floor. If it's wet, the heater core has rusted out, and the smell was hot antifreeze. You might want to check your coolant level. I assume the heater blower is still working? If it was the heater blower that stopped working, that smell could have been the blower motor burning up.

2003 Rav 4 periodically stalls at low idle, intersections

Start with the throttle body. I use brake clean and a toothbrush. Clean the plate and were it sits. Wouldn't hurt to spray down the MAF sensor, if it has one. Once you do it, it will take a few seconds to start. Once started, rev it up and spray inside the throttle. Keep it running. Most times this is a $4 fix.

Why does clutch operation deteriorate after 20-30 minutes of driving?

If it's a cable system, I would suspect the cable was frayed. If it uses a hydraulic system, maybe there's air in the line. When the air is heated, the clutch line gets mushy, (much more noticeable when it happens with a brake line). It could need a hydraulic cylinder repair kit too..

Replace the fuel filter. That should fix the problem. You can follow the fuel line back to the fuel tank to find it. It is usually in the middle of the vehicle near the edge of the vehicle, like right under the passengers or drivers door.

Smoke around belt and sparks on Pulley holding belt

Most likely AC clutch assembly. Have it checked & unplug wires to it, if necessary, to use temporarily, so that clutch doesn't engage.
