1994 saturn SW2

Have had some strange clicking sound from the left rear wheel area,
found the ABS wire harness hold down bracket unattached, reattached noise stopped for a week , now noise is back, bracket still holding ?And whats the deal the upper pin has a rubber all the way through the caliper and is a smaller dia.? How does it slide with that rubber friction ? lower does not and is bigger? but looks like it had some kind of seal just on the end by threads?
Thank you guys in advance..... Sam

upper bolt in rubber slides with lube on the rubber, the lower has a seal at the end of the bracket but no rubber insert, also needs to be lubed to slide properly

SOURCE: Steering Binding

Hello Goldwinger.
Yes it could be an axle, It could also be the strut tower The strut bearing is on top of your strut and could be a problem I have seen it before and also the Axle do that, I don't think it would be the steering rack because I think it would do that either way you turn the steering wheel. I would stick with your first thought. Axle, sure sounds like an axle, The Clicking is usually the First indication of that. So I would take it out and check it or just replace it and I think that will solve your problem. If not get back to me and when I get in from the Shop I will check back here and see if you got it or not. Thanks Goldwinger and hope that helps you out some what. Bear001

SOURCE: 1996 Grand Prix caliper bracket 'star' socket size

60 will is the right socket, I'll recomend getting one in 1/2" drive, they can be tight!

SOURCE: Saturn Aura 2007 Rear Brakes

The trick is to remove the cap on the brake fluid reservoir on the firewall under the hood before squeezing the caliper. Be sure to replace the cap before attempting to press the brake pedal.

ABS, TCS & SCS lights came on all together and won't go away on 2008 Saturn Vue

You have a wheel sensor failed. Likely on the left rear. I have an 08 Saturn Vue and mine has failed repeatedly. First time Jan 09, then again Jan 10.. and once again in Jan 11. Finally dealt with GM Customer Service, as dealer just keeps replacing the sensor. They claim corrosion. GM CS told them to investigate further, so they replaced a connector and sensor this time. Not holding my breath. Thank god for warranty. Will probably end up getting rid of the car.

My 93 Saturn SW2 begins to overheat when idling after driving. I can cool the engine by turning on the AC. Is this a thermostat problem? Or what else may be wrong?

Sounds like a relay or fuse problem, at worst it's your fan #1 has gone bad and needs to be replaced. Before replacing anything, check all your fuses, relay, wire leads and harness at the fan.
Good luck and thank you for using Fixya.

Pontiac G6 ABS Problem

when the ABS light comes on you will not hear or feel anything cause soon as the ABS light comes on the ABS is disabled
sounds like it is weather related (rain, snow)
i would check both rear wheel speed sensor harnesses for water intrusion if you see any corrosion (green) on the terminals replace both the hub and harness
if there is no corrosion then check resistance of the sensor also check for a short to ground
if that is ok then put some dielectric lube on the wheel speed sensor terminals and clear the codes and see what happens
intermittent problems can be hard to find
hope this helps

How do you get the drum off on rear brakes on a 2000 saturn?

slacken the handbrake cable right off first ,then try again if it still will not move fit the wheel back on opposite way round and place a lump of wood on rim and wack with a 7kg hammer ,the drum has worn down and the auto adjusters have expanded the shoes out so the shoes are holding the drum on.When you get the drum off use a small angle grinder to flatten this lip down and put a slight bevel on the edge of the drum.Dont forget to manually adjust the auto adjusters up so drum spins but the shoes cn be herd rubbing, then adjust handbrake cable so handbrake has 3 clicks and the footbrake should be hard and not travel halfway down

98 Rodeo - ABS light on all the time, Relay Error?

I had a similare problem. Mechanic found a broken ABS wire connection in the rear left shock area. It did not solve the issue. I pulled out the ABS sensor from the rear diff and found a piece of metal megnetized to it. Removed it and things worked. New mystery about the metal though.....
Eventually I had to redo what the mechanic fixed with the wire connection and I replace the entire harness. Removed it entirely and soldered a cable in between.

1994 Dodge GC with no directionals or brake lights

I would check the wiring around the area you worked on. The abs wheel speed sensor connector or wiring might have a poor connection now or the harness going to the sensor. I would just double check and then wiggle the wiring harness. If the fuses stop blowing out then you know you have a short in the harness or a short to ground. You need to make sure the harness is routed exact same way as before and no hitting any metal at all.

Good Luck

When i drive my mountaineer it feels like my brakes are locked up and my abs and awd lights are on i unplugged the awd fuse but didnt help and also when i turn left i hear clicking and clanking

you should visually inspect the wheel sensors, You need to have the ABS scanned... also, a collapsed brake hose can appear to be fine externally, you need to remove it to see if fluid flows throught it and back... the clicking can be a worn outer CV joint, make sure the boot is in tact, and hasn't expelled grease, the can also set your ABS since the LH sensor or reluctor (pick up ring) could be contaminated with grease ans road debris.
