Im having the same problem in my 97 s10 as well im looking for a solution myself, mine got so bad that my headlights went completely out while i was driving tonight, i believe the relay box is in the back left side of the glovebox, i hope it helps, if you find a fix for the problem please post it.
Not a regular fuse for headlights. Usually a relay that trips if it overheats and resets when it cools off. Often under the hood. Probably means you have a short circuit somewhere. A hot wire touching ground , often at rear of vehicle, Are your tailights still on ? If headlights and taillights go off together then problem is definately a short.
Where at under the hood would the relay switch be located? Thank you very much for the help
usually not far from battery Also usually in a black plastic casing. The fact that your headlights come back on probably means the relay is fine and you have a short. The relay is usually a metal case about 3/8 wide and 1 1/2 inches long. A guess as I am not familiar with your vehicle but that is about standard.
