1999 Chevy S10 2.2. Occasionally my truck will crank but won't start. After waiting 10 mins it will start just fine. What causes this?

sounds like your fuel pump is going out. Next time it happens remove fuel cap and have someone turn ignition to the on position not crank. You should hear the fuel pump run for 2-4 second. If you don't hear it come on then try beating your gas tank hard with a rubber mallet while Ignition is in on position.listen for fuel pump to come on. If it starts after this then fuel pump it ?s.

Is the security light flashing? If so, you 've got trouble codes stored and it's probably the anti theft system

Firing order for a 99 chevy S10 vortex 4.3

I think on the 1999 V6 the firing order is 1-6-5-4-3-2. Stand with the engine pulleys and belts nearest to you. The cylinders are number as Odd and Even. The LEFT side is the EVEN numbers, (2-4-6). Number Two is nearest to you and Number 6 is furthest away from you. The RIGHT side is the ODD numbers, (1-3-5). Number One is nearest to you and number Five is furthest away from you.

1999 Chevy s10 starts and dies imedately.

The wonderful GM passlock has your fuel shut down. Try putting your key in turn it on dont start it wait 10mins and turn off remove key wait 10 seconds repeat this 3 times a total of 30mins. If that dont work try it with a different key. If that dont work your ignition switch needs replaced and only a dealer can reprogram the new keys. Good luck, counting my kids I have 5 Gm products like this and 3 of them have caused the same problem. I have been able to avoid the dealer with the above procedure

1997 Chevy s10 Pick up fuel gauge

The most likely problem is the sender unit in the tank is stuck.
Sender units are relatively cheap and easy to change.
Autozone probably carry them on the shelf.

How do i bypass the security on my chevrolet s10

YOU CAN CRANK VECHICLE BY PUTTING KEY IN THE IGNITION SWITCH IN ON POSITION FOR 10 MINUTES UNTIL SECURITY LIGHT TURN ITSELF OFF.THEN TURN OFF IGNITION SWITCH FOR 5 SECONDS THEN START ENGINE.YOU CANT BYPASS THE THEFT SECURITY SYSTEM BECAUSE ITS A FEATURE THAT CAME WITH TRUCK.THEFT SECURITY SYSTEM IS CONTROL BY BCM AND PCM. IF YOUR IGNITION KEYS AND SWITCH IS FAULTY ALSO THE BCM THEY ALL HAVE TO BE REPLACED AT DEALERSHIP AND REPROGRAMMED CANT BYPASS SYSTEM YOU HAVE TO GET IT FIXED.

Truck not getting fuel mechanic says fuel pump

If a mechanic has checked it and say's it's a bad fuel pump,it most likely is 90%.If the kms are around 180000 or 100000 miles or more, it really most likely is 99%.

I have a 1999 Chevy S-10 and it leans to the right at about an 1"

Does the vehicle behave differently when driving? Thumps when hitting pot holes or bounces more than usual. Park the vehicle on level ground and with a good bright torch take a very good look at the suspension on both sides. This lets you compare one side with the other. You'll need to examine the suspension for obvious damage. Try the method below. If the spring and shock look OK it could be the suspension has a 'soft' spring or a faulty damper on one side. You are looking for broken or missing pieces. The spring should also look symmetrical. Check the mounting points front and rear especially the rear swinging mount. Chock the wheels, (front AND rear of one wheel), and get someone to bounce up and down in the back of the vehicle. Without getting under the vehicle watch the springs and mounts move. It should be the same both sides.

My 1999 s10 truck 4.3 is not running right will not take the gas changed the plugs,wires,rotor button,cap and spider injectors and still not taking gas

Turn the Key on do you hear the Gas pump Yes or no?? If No Check the relay under the hood for fuel pump and check fuses for fuel.. However if you added an alarm system to the truck that might be a problem,. They use in line fuses to stop the fuel and they some times pop.. Good luck

I have a 1999 Chevy S10 2.2L 4Cyl extreme. I can not find or locate the EGR Valve any where,I am pretty sure it does not have one, I wanted to confirm or discuss this with a fixian expert like myself?

Doesn't have EGR valve . How many miles on the truck ? What Causes High NO (NOx)? Nitrogen Oxide or NO is created when an engine's combustion chamber temperature reaches over 2500F. Vehicle manufacturers have designed several systems, which when working properly, lower nitric oxide emissions. Below are common failures which may cause your car, truck, van, suv, or motorhome to produce high high nitric oxide. 1. Lean Fuel Mixture - Lean fuel mixtures cause high NOx. A lean fuel mixture exists when less fuel then required is delivered to the combustion chambers or when more air then necessary is added to the fuel. In either case the lack of gasoline needed to cool the combustion chambers down is not present. Combustion temperatures increase causing high nitric oxide emissions. A lean fuel condition may be due to a vacuum leak/s and/or defective fuel control components, such as the Air Flow Meter, Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor, and O2 sensors. Read about Oxygen Sensor. 2. Defective EGR System- The Exhaust Gas Recirculation system is designed to reduce NO. The EGR system consists of an EGR valve, EGR pressure sensor, vacuum hoses, and one or more vacuum switching valves or solenoids. Later model vehicles may be equipped with electronically controlled EGR valves, which do not require vacuum lines or switching solenoids. Electronic EGR systems will have these components built in. The EGR system's job is to re-route a small amount of exhaust gas back into the intake manifold to help reduce combustion chamber temperatures. As mentioned above NOx is created when combustion chamber temperatures reach above 2500F. By recirculating exhaust gas back into the intake, a small amount of the air/fuel mixture is replaced with inert gas, reducing combustion temperatures. Read about EGR System. Defective Catalytic Converter (CAT) Some vehicle manufactures have designed their cars to operate without EGR valves. Non-EGR equipped vehicles rely heavily on the Catalytic Converter to assist in the reduction of NO. These vehicles have tendencies to develop CAT problems sooner then those which are equipped. If you own a non-EGR equipped vehicle, and have failed the emissions test for high NOx, pay close attention to the Catalytic Converter. Read about Catalytic Converter 4. High Engine Mileage - Over an engine's lifetime, carbon build-up develops in the engine's combustion chambers. The more miles on your engine, the more carbon build-up on the pistons, cylinder heads and valves. Carbon build-up decreases the available space for the air/fuel mixture to combust, and causes higher cylinder compression. High compression results in high temperatures and high NOx. Keep in mind this problem is usually seen in vehicles with over 150,000 miles which have been poorly maintained. The solution to this problem is called De-Carbonizing. It usually costs around two labor hours at a smog check repair station. It will remove a good amount of carbon out of an engine. This will increase combustion space, lower compression and lower NOx. 5. Engine Overheating - Inadequate engine cooling can will high NOx. If your vehicle's cooling system is not working efficiently, (i.e. bad radiator, thermostat, hoses) high NOx will be created. Remember high NOx nitric oxide is created when an engine's combustion chamber temperatures reach over 2500F. You will want to make sure your vehicle's cooling system is working properly, and your vehicle's temperature gauge is always indicating normal.

I have 99 zr2 pickup and where the cv shaft slides

Open the bell. Take off the rear gear cover. U will loose all the fluid if any still in it so only remove some of the bolts loosen leave like 3 in around the bottom loosen them out a oil pan under the cover pry the cover off the diff leaving the 3 bolts to keep the cover from just popping off it will also help slow the rush of fluid. Once the fluid is drained remove the bolts and cover. On the inside u will se side gears. Have a helper push the axle shaft inward then u will see there is a C clip holding the axle carfully pry off the clip. Only do one side at a time. ... Then slide the shaft out where ur helper is. .. remove and replace the leaking seal. Then clean the axle. And u have to be easy sliding it in. Some times when the axle shaft is slide in u hit the end of the tube push the axle down toward the ground with variety of pressure as u push in this is tricky. But it will pop in. Then replace the clip and gentle have a helper try and pull back on the shaft. This sets the clip from falling out. Clean the bell area and scrap the old gasket off both sides if u have no replacement gasket get high heat black rtv silcone apply it to the cover or diff face and reverse the steps to install fill it with fluid and road test all this can be seen on youtube under inner axle seal repair. It sounds like you've already gained access to the fuel pump if you have no power there. Do you have a good ground at the pump?

Chevy manual transmission

You need to watch the clutch slave cylinder while someone pushes in the clutch .... is the arm coming out ? If it is check that it is tight up against the arm. It doesn't take much movement to engage the clutch but if there is slack it won't work.
