During accelerating from a stop I frequently get lack of power and black smoke from the tailpipe. When this occurs I find that if I take my foot off the gas, then slowly press on the accelerator the engine performs normally. Once up to speed, the car will perform well for long distances as long as I cruise at highway speeds.
Things I have done to try to fix it: I changed the AIC valve and both hoses. The car actually performed well for about a week after I did this, and I thought I solved the problem. I also pulled and gapped the spark plugs. I noticed that there was black soot on the creamic of each plug. The components of the ignition system are all in good shape.
What are the possible causes of this condition?
Thank you,

I have very littel brake and the pedal is very hard
Could be your axigen sensor or your tps trottle position sensor
i also recomend to unplug the maf sensor if it does have one, some cars will idle with maf senseor unplug others not but if by unpluging the maf system dispear the replace maf sensor
(mass air flow)
