This may or may not work,it worked on a different car. Try shaking the steering wheel back and forth while pulling on key, or turning ignition. Hope it helps.

For the amount of money it will cost it would be worth changing the thermostat anyway. They aren't very expensive and reasonably easy to repair. Water pump replacements are more expensive AND more work. Try the cheaper one first as thermostats are known to wear out. If the overflow tank is backing up it will be because the safety valve built into the water pump is diverting built up pressure.

Check the idle air control (IAC) sensor and the throttle position sensor(TPS).

you will have to go to the dealer and see if they can replace the key if not then you will have to replace the entire lock cylender

there may have been air trapped in the power steering system. Keep a close eye on the system & your oil. Make sure your not leaking (wrong filter etc.)

my saab did something similar to this except it sounded funny when it turned over (real fast) turns out that it had something to do with variable valve timing piston in heads, they wanted like 1300to repair it so just sold it , hope that s not your problem too
