I had a 105,000 service done on my 2005 Camry. Before I took it in I had no problems but when I pulled into my driveway that evening I found that my remote no longer worked. I changed the battery and still nothing. I called the dealer the next morning and was told that they couldn't get me in for two days. When I finally took it in they thought they had fixed so I picked up the car and once again it didn't work when I pulled into my driveway. I took it back a second time and after working on it all day they told me that they thought it might be part of a problem with the alarm system and that the alarm guy wouldn't be in until Monday. So again I took it in on Monday and they still couldn't find the problem. After speaking with the Service Manager he assured me that they would get it resolved so I took it back once again. After three days in the shop they told me it was a sensor under the seat that was malfunctioning and that the part was $800. We called another Toyota dealership and was told that they had never had an instance where they had to replace the sensor. Now we're leary of this dealership. Has anyone had the same experience?

SOURCE: Engine light keeps coming on

The P-0440, P-0441 and P-0446 indicates that you have a leak in the "fume" side of the system. Normally, seeing a 440-441-446 is a loose or defective fuel cap. One would NOT change the evap VSV for a 440-441-446 set of codes. At this point, I agree with you regarding the trust issue. Regarding the caisiter, I cannot speculate yes or no, without further info/codes/etc from your dealer, but, I have replaced several over the past few years; this "could" be true....

SOURCE: how to turn off the alarm manually without any use of a remote control

If the alarm is a "factory" alarm, cycle the key in the ignition from off to on (where the dash indicators light up), 5 times. This is the reset proceedure for the "factory" alarm.

SOURCE: Plugs for Camry 2000 4 cyl.

The plugs that are supposed to be in a 2000 4 cyl Camry are :
PK20TR11 Toyota P/N 90919-01194

The K16TR11 plugs fit a variety of models.
They are found in the following units:

98/99 Corolla
95/97 Paseo
95/98 T-100 V-6
95-04 Tacoma V-6
00/04 Tundra V-6

There is no question that your dealer installed the wrong plugs.

I would really appreciate a FixYa rating for the information that I have provided you. Thnaks in advance.

SOURCE: 2002 Toyota Camry will not start, Alarm Problem???

the computer system that runs the car itself has a Vehicle Theft Deterrent Module build into the OBD II operating system that runs the ignition timing everything. It does make it neearly impossible to steal the car, only one draw back the Dealer is the only place you can get it serviced.

Timming broke on my 2005 sebring

Well-- I guess you know that is not a home driveway repair

I can be done, but even some repair shops don't have the
personnel to tackle that

You should be changing the belt, water pump, pulleys
& tensioners every 90,000 miles-- but they can break
even doing so

I Have 105,000 on my CRV the check engine light came on, is that one of the normal intervals? Nothing seems wrong had service done at 100,000. thanks Iggy

100,000k is a typical mileage for timing belt replacement. Check with your mechanic that this was done and that the indicator relates to this.

Your public library will have a manual covering your mechanical repair. Moreover, they have the automotive shops online software called AllData. It is the best auto technician database available today. You can print out specific troubleshooting procedures, diagrams, step-by-step istructions, and soforth. The typical person cannot afford to pay for this service, just automotive dealerships, etc... that is why the public library made it available to everyone and for free to view and print out material. Honda Accord V6 2001 105,000 mile

No problem, and I'm glad it could help:) You might even consider having the belts and water pump done at a shop, plus the coolant flush and fill, but leave the oil change, air filter change, and new spark plugs for yourself. You can buy all of those parts at an auto parts store very inexpensively (much less than a dealer will charge you), and with a handful of basic tools, you can do all of that labor yourself in an hour or two. If you're interested in this, let me know on here, and I can give you more info on what is involved.
