I have a 2000 Sebring JX, 2.5L. It will not crank. I've checked the start and battery they are both good. When I turn the key to the start position there is no clicking. I took the wire harness of the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) and jumped pin 31 to ground and when I turned the key to start position the starter turned the engine over but it would not start. The Auto Shutdown Relay (ASD) does not appear to be energizing. I can energize the relay when I jumper pin 67 on the PCM to ground. With everything put together and after turn the key to start position and then back to off position, the Idle Air Control Motor makes a humming sound and won't quit humming until I take fuse 5 out. Fuse 5 feeds the ASD relay and power to pin 46 of the PCM. I've also checked the Park-Neutral Position switch, pin 76 of the PCM reads 0.16v when in park and 12v when in gear. I don't get any codes. I don't know what the internal logic of the PCM is so I don't know what it takes for ASD relay to energize (pin 67) nor what it takes for engine starter motor relay to energize (pin 31). Any suggestions?

SOURCE: 94 dakota 5.2 - no spark - auto shut down relay not energized

Hello this is a feature to stop the engine and exhaust system from filling up with gas when spark is lost! years ago fuel would be delivered as usual and you Eng and converter would be full of gas real hazard back then!!!!now they built into computer when spark fails fuel automatically shuts off safety feature??? or not? so i would start to test coil this is a good place to start and if you have engine light on plug in OBD 2 scan tool to retreve the fault hope this helps you out and if you do not have a proper spark tester tool i would invest in one most auto parts stores usually carry them!!! $15-$30 dollars usually.John

SOURCE: I went out to warm

First unhook the battery for about a half hour to reset the computer.
does that have anti-theft on it.
a remote starter ?
second either swap the relays for the starter and fuel pump or replace them outright.
when you bypass the relay to get it to crank... will it start ?

Robert

if that radio is of the anti-theft variety make sure you know the code and how to enter it

1998 sebring wont crank over

If the engine will not crank, a mechanic would check for voltage at the battery, the starter, the neutral safety switch, and the key switch.
If the engine cranks but will not start, you would need to find out if you are dealing with a no spark or no fuel issue to proceed.

2000 Sebring JXI wont start & when in reverse you can push the car forward or backward

Click on the link for starter wiring. Not sure what's going on with your tranny? You can see in the diagram, the tranny module gets voltage from the crank position, ignition switch. You can also see the fuse, not only check the fuse, use a testlight and check voltage on fuse circuit.
Any testing, make sure functional parking brake is set and block the wheels. be safe. Safety is your responsibility.
Battery has a full charge and battery connections all good?

My 1997 Chrysler Sebring JX quick running after coming to a stop at a stoplight I can here the fuel pump hum when the key it turned on cylinders have compression so I know the timing belt is on the crank...

You likely need a fuel pump because you hear the pump, but it is NOT pumping anything- like a well needs priming. Drop the tank and replace the pump.

My 2000 Chrysler Sebring stops running. After a few minutes it will start again and run fine. This situation just started happenning a few months ago and is increasing in frequency

is the check engine light on??
i've done a few that had no light/codes.the most common problems are crank or cam sensor failures. really need to check when car stalls.
replacing crank sensor 6 mths ago & car has'nt had a problem. if you search these sensor on the sebring you'll find alot of info.
