With the timming marks lined up make sure that cylinder 1 is at top dead center on the compresion stroke, then as you lower the distributer back in make sure that the rotor is pointing to the number 1 plug wire post on the distributor cap, mark the distributor where the #1 post is since you can't install it with the cap on.

timing mark is on flywheel for crank and on the rear end of the cams under the rocker cover.be carefull with this as the pulleys do not have keyways and can come loose resulting in smashed valves and piston.make sure retaining bols have locktite or better still araldite on the threads and use a impact gun on them.fairly easy job to do though, make sure you remove tensioner though and remove the dust cover and give a little drop of oil and some new grease then push seal cover back on ,saves the cost of a new bearing as these are not cheap.

Rotate the engine so that No. 1 cylinder is at TDC on the
compression stroke. Check that the timing marks are aligned on the
camshaft and crankshaft pulleys. An access plug is provided in the cam
belt cover so that the camshaft timing can be checked without removal
of the cover or any other parts. Set the crankshaft to TDC by aligning
the timing mark on the crank pulley with the TDC mark on the belt
cover. Look through the access hole in the belt cover to make sure that
the timing mark on the cam drive sprocket is lined up with the pointer
on the inner belt cover.
To install:
The spring cannot be used to set belt tension; a wrench must be used on the tensioner assembly.
