try removing the chip first and see what happens

SOURCE: 2002 mustang makes rattling sound when accelerating...

Possible bad motor mount(s) --only thumps or rattles when power is going to the wheels.

SOURCE: My 1996 Ranger 2.3 sputters at mid RPM's. driving

REPLACE FUEL FILTER.SOUND LIKE ITS ALMOST STOPPED UP.

SOURCE: i own a 1995 mustang

An engine light that comes on when the engine rpm is high can be a few things.

1. o2 sensor on the exhaust manifold (doubt it)

2. Engine oil is near the add line..... Or need to use a higher viscosity oil 40W (possible)

3. EGR valve seat is loaded with carbon and is blowing by when it should be closed causing the o2 sensor to detect and emissions problem. (possible)

4. A simple vacuum leak some where on the engine or inside the power assist module of the brake master cyl. . (possible)

5. A dirty Air Filter

Hope this gives you and idea of where to start looking..
