I have Nissan Altima and oil is coming into the intake manifold and smoking too

The valve cover gasket seals are probably old and brittle and they are not sealing in the oil. This happens to most vehicles as they get older. With coil on cap plugs, oil will fill up the spark plug tubes and it will start to missfire. New valve cover gasket seals are probably needed

I have a 2002 Nissan Altima 2.5L that is leaking oil into the spark plug tubes; can these seals be replaced or does the valve cover have to be replaced?

Yes, you need a Rocker cover (valve cover) Gasket kit. Remove the valve cover, remove all old O-rings and cover gasket, clean grooves and mating surfaces without gouging or scratching them, put the new gaskets on as per factory recommendations, tighten to the proper torque and you're done. The spark plug holes in the cover are part of the valve cover gasket kit. Any Napa, Car Quest, Pep Boys, Auto Zone will have it.

My car is a 95 Nissan Altima is jerking while idling and while driving. There is oil in the area where the spark plugs are. The distrubtor does not seem to be working either.

You need to replace the valve cover gasket.Under the valve cover are four tubes that the spark plugs fit down into. between these tubes and the inside of the valve cover is a series of round gaskets that fit on these tubes. When they get old they leak oil into these tubes.replace spark plugs and wires when you do the job, they are most likely finished. Its a nice job for a Saturday morning, about an hour. Good Luck

ON 2002 ALTIMA 2.5 I FOUND OIL IN ONE TUBE WHERE SPARK PLUG IS WHAT SEAL ON VALVE COVER OR PLUG TOP SEAL WOULD CAUSE THIS...CAR DOES NOT LEAK OR BURN OIL AT ALL

I would try snugging down all the valve cover bolts before replacing anything. A valve cover gasket kit should have the grommets and gaskets necessary to repair this if you find no loose bolts.

Nissan Altima 2000 - Engine oil leaking problem.

replace the front oil seal. first i would clean the engine with purple power (degrease etc.) then look at the engine and make sure the leak is not coming from above like possibly the valve cover gasket or from the oil sending unit. try to tighten the bolts on the valve cover and even the oil pan. you never know, you may get lucky. i don't know where you are but front seals are cheap but the labor on the job is what costs you.

Valve cover gasket leaking

When you buy the valve cover set, it will include the spark plug well "O" rings. Simply remove the valve cover and on the underside of the valve cover, you'll see the "O" rings that need replaced and you'll see exactly how the valve cover gasket itself fits.
